Summary

This 2009 Lexus LS460 LWB represents the gold standard for executive transport, offering the extended rear legroom that makes the Long Wheelbase (LWB) model a favorite in the GCC. The all-wheel-drive system paired with the legendary 4.6-liter V8 provides a level of high-speed stability and smoothness that few modern sedans can match. As an American spec vehicle, it offers a high equipment level including the sophisticated air suspension and advanced safety tech, making it a comfortable long-distance cruiser for UAE highways. Black is a premier choice for this model, maintaining strong visual appeal and professional stature in the local market. For a buyer seeking the pinnacle of Lexus reliability at a fraction of the cost of a new flagship, this well-maintained LS is a strategic choice.

This Car vs Other 2009 LS460s

With a mileage of 184,568 km, this LS460 sits right at the average for a luxury sedan of this age in the GCC, where 20,000 km per year is the standard for highway-heavy commuting. The Black exterior is the most sought-after resale color for the LS series in the Gulf, ensuring it holds its value better than lighter or more niche shades. Being the LWB 5ST variant, it offers significantly more rear-cabin volume than the standard wheelbase models often found in the market.

LWB 5ST vs Lower Trims

The LWB (Long Wheelbase) trim adds 120 mm to the wheelbase, dedicated entirely to rear-seat legroom, transforming the back cabin into a true executive suite. Unlike the standard LS460, this trim includes the sophisticated Adaptive Variable Air Suspension as standard, which provides a 'magic carpet' ride quality essential for the region's varying road surfaces. The LWB also standardizes high-tier features like the power-closing doors and an upgraded interior material palette that lower trims lacked.

LS460 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW 7 Series of the same era, the Lexus LS460 leads with its reputation for bulletproof reliability and lower long-term maintenance costs. The 84-liter fuel tank is specifically advantageous for long-distance drives across the Emirates, providing a greater cruising range than many European competitors. Its air conditioning system is widely regarded as one of the most effective for surviving the extreme 45°C+ UAE summers.

Running Costs & Resale

Lexus vehicles enjoy the strongest value retention in the GCC used market, typically depreciating at a slower rate than German rivals. While this is an American spec car, parts availability remains excellent across the UAE and Saudi Arabia due to the high mechanical commonality with local models. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, and the naturally aspirated V8 is designed to run reliably on the high-octane fuel widely available across the GCC. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 12.4 L/100km, which is efficient for a full-size luxury V8.

Performance & Capability

The 380-horsepower V8 engine delivers seamless acceleration, capable of reaching 100 km/h in approximately 5.9 seconds. The All-Wheel Drive system features a Torsen limited-slip differential that provides a 40:60 rear-biased power split, ensuring exceptional grip during rare rain events or on sandy highway shoulders. The 8-speed automatic transmission was a world-first at launch, offering incredibly smooth shifts that prioritize cabin serenity even under hard acceleration.

Comfort & Cabin

The LWB cabin is focused on silent travel, featuring acoustic glass and extensive sound dampening that isolates passengers from road noise. The 5-seat configuration is highly practical for families, providing three full-sized rear positions without sacrificing the luxury of the rear power-adjustable seats. Quad-zone climate control ensures all passengers stay cool during the peak of summer, and the premium audio system provides a studio-quality listening environment.

Safety

This LS460 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including 10 standard airbags and the Lexus Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system. The all-wheel-drive traction is a significant safety asset on fast-moving UAE highways, providing superior stability during high-speed maneuvers. Standard features like electronic stability control and knee airbags for both front occupants provide peace of mind that was ahead of its time for the 2009 model year.

The bottom line

This LS460 LWB is the ideal choice for an executive or family looking for maximum rear-seat comfort and legendary Lexus reliability at a highly accessible price point.
