Summary

This 2008 Lexus LS460 LWB represents the pinnacle of Japanese luxury engineering, offering a level of refinement that remains competitive even after 18 years. As a Platinum LWB trim with the rare four-seat configuration, it transforms the rear cabin into a private jet-like environment with massive legroom and dedicated comfort controls. White is the most desirable resale color in the GCC, and this specific regional spec ensures the air conditioning and cooling systems are built to withstand extreme summer heat. For the executive buyer or family seeking ultimate comfort, the combination of a smooth V8 and legendary Lexus reliability makes this a standout opportunity in the pre-owned market. Own a flagship that defined an era of silence and sophistication for a fraction of its original cost.

This Car vs Other 2008 LS460s

With a mileage of 193,568 km over 18 years, this LS460 has been driven approximately 10,700 km per year—significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. While many examples in the market are American imports with unknown histories, this is a genuine GCC spec vehicle, offering better long-term peace of mind. The white exterior is the strongest color for local resale and thermal efficiency during summer months.

PLATINUM LWB 4ST vs Lower Trims

The Platinum Long Wheelbase (LWB) with the 4-seat configuration adds an executive rear console, replacing the middle seat with a fixed armrest and high-end controls. Over the standard short-wheelbase model, it gains 120mm of rear legroom, a 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, and a rear-seat entertainment screen. It also includes the 'Ottoman' reclining seat feature and massagers, which are absent in standard 5-seat trims.

LS460 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W221) or BMW 7 Series (E65) of the same era, the LS460 leads in ownership simplicity and electronics reliability. Its 84-litre fuel tank provides a massive cruising range for highway trips between Emirates, while its cabin insulation from road noise was benchmarked as the quietest in its class. Lexus also maintains a superior parts availability network across the entire GCC region.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.6L V8 achieves a real-world combined fuel consumption of roughly 11.1L/100km, which is impressive for a non-turbocharged engine of this size. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and authorized Al Futtaim or similar GCC service centers are widely available. Lexus flagship sedans hold their value better than German equivalents, typically depreciating at 8-10% annually compared to 12-18% for European rivals.

Performance & Capability

Powered by 342 horsepower, this sedan reaches 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on the E11 or E311 highways. The 8-speed automatic transmission was a world-first at launch, ensuring smooth shifts and refined cruising at high speeds. Despite its executive focus, the rear-wheel-drive chassis and variable gear ratio steering provide a stable and planted feel during long-distance cross-border drives.

Comfort & Cabin

The four-seat layout is the highlight, featuring ventilated and heated seats for all occupants, which is essential for the GCC climate. Rear passengers enjoy a dedicated climate zone with infrared body-temperature sensors that adjust cooling automatically. The cabin is trimmed in semi-aniline leather and genuine wood, creating a vibration-free sanctuary that remains remarkably silent at 140 km/h.

Safety

Standard safety features include a comprehensive airbag system with knee airbags and side curtain protection. The Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system coordinates stability control and braking to keep the car composed in emergency maneuvers. Advanced features for the era, such as Intuitive Park Assist and a high-resolution backup camera, assist in navigating tight urban parking environments in Dubai or Riyadh.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own the sought-after 4-seat Executive configuration of the LS460 in GCC spec, offering unmatched rear-cabin luxury for the price of a modern economy car.
