Toyota Land Cruiser GXR UPGRADE 2025

Highlights

• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• Body-on-frame construction
• Cooled centre console standard

Summary

This Land Cruiser GXR is a standout opportunity for buyers seeking a reliable desert-ready workhorse with lower-than-average mileage for its sixteen-year age. Finished in high-demand white, it offers excellent heat reflection and holds the strongest resale position in the UAE market. The 4.0L V6 provides a perfect balance of mechanical simplicity and enough power to tackle both city highways and weekend dunes. With 170,000 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km per year expected in the region, suggesting a well-preserved engine and drivetrain. It remains the go-to choice for families who prioritize long-term durability and easy parts availability across the GCC.

This Car vs Other 2010 Land Cruisers

With only 170,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits well below the typical 350,000 km range often seen for a sixteen-year-old Land Cruiser in the GCC. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local market, ensuring it retains value better than darker alternatives. Being a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for extreme regional temperatures, unlike imported European or American versions.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim adds essential GCC comfort features over the base GX, including a factory-fitted cool box in the center console for summer trips. It upgrades the cabin with a power-adjustable driver’s seat and wood-grain interior accents that provide a more executive feel. Buyers also benefit from standard cruise control and rear parking sensors, which are often missing or basic on entry-level models.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol of the same era, the Land Cruiser leads in long-term parts availability and wider service specialized across all seven Emirates. While rivals like the Chevrolet Tahoe offer more tech, the Land Cruiser’s body-on-frame durability and superior approach angles make it more capable for desert exploration. Its dual-tank system also provides a significant range advantage for cross-country drives to Oman or Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 typically averages between 12.9L and 13.4L/100km, which is efficient for a large SUV in GCC stop-start traffic. Maintenance is straightforward, with service intervals every 5,000 or 10,000 km supported by a massive network of Al-Futtaim and independent specialists. This model retains a legendary 8-10% annual depreciation rate, one of the lowest in the region, ensuring high value at the time of future resale.

Performance & Capability

The 240 hp V6 engine is paired with a robust All-Wheel Drive system and a low-range transfer case, allowing for genuine off-road performance. With a 200 km/h top speed and smooth automatic transmission, it remains a comfortable and stable cruiser on the E11 highway. The 225 mm ground clearance ensures it can navigate gravel tracks and soft sand without difficulty during weekend family outings.

Comfort & Cabin

This 8-seater configuration offers a spacious three-row layout, ideal for large families or group trips. The air conditioning system is world-renowned for its cooling speed, featuring dedicated rear vents to keep all passengers comfortable in 45-degree heat. The cabin is well-insulated from road noise, and the GXR’s upgraded Moquette fabric seats are designed for durability against sand and sun exposure.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this GXR includes dual front airbags and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist for heavy traffic situations. It features Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and stability control to maintain composure on sandy surfaces. The inclusion of cruise control and parking sensors adds a layer of safety and convenience for daily urban commuting.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants a legendary 4x4 with manageable mileage and high resale potential, this white GXR is a reliable and smart investment in the current UAE market.
