Summary

This Toyota Prado TX is a prime choice for GCC buyers seeking a robust, short-wheelbase SUV that balances urban practicality with weekend desert readiness. With the 2.7-litre engine, it offers lower maintenance costs and better fuel efficiency than the V6 variant, making it an ideal entry point into the legendary Land Cruiser family. The white exterior is the top-performing color in the region for heat reflection and resale value, staying cooler during peak summer months. This specific 3-door model is highly sought after in the UAE and wider GCC for its agility in traffic and superior maneuverability off-road. Ownership of a Prado in this region is supported by the most extensive authorized service network available, ensuring long-term peace of mind.

This Car vs Other 2010 Prados

With 175,648 km, this Prado sits well below the typical GCC average of 25,000 km per year, which would place a 2010 model closer to 350,000 km. Its white exterior is the strongest resale color in the local market, offering a significant advantage in value retention. The 3-door configuration is less common than the 5-door, making it a desirable find for enthusiasts who prioritize off-road agility and easier city parking.

TX vs Lower Trims

The TX trim provides the essential Prado experience with full-time 4WD and a locking center differential as standard. It steps up from base utility trims by offering a more refined cabin suitable for family use, featuring standard air conditioning with rear cooling vents essential for the GCC climate. Unlike export-market base versions, this GCC-spec TX includes body-colored bumpers and mirrors for a more cohesive premium appearance.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Mitsubishi Pajero 3-door or Jeep Wrangler offer off-road capability, the Prado leads the segment in long-term mechanical durability and parts availability across the GCC. Its 87-litre fuel tank provides superior range for long highway drives between emirates compared to the Pajero's smaller capacity. The Prado also maintains a higher residual value in the UAE market than its American and European counterparts.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.7L engine is known for its reliability and averages approximately 12.4 L/100km in GCC stop-start traffic, with improved efficiency on long-distance highway cruises. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized service network in the region, maintenance is both affordable and convenient. This model typically sees a low annual depreciation rate of 8-10%, making it one of the safest automotive investments in the GCC used market.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 220 mm ground clearance and full-time four-wheel drive, this Prado is built to handle everything from steep dune climbs to rocky wadi paths. The 160 hp petrol engine is paired with a dual-range transfer case, providing the low-end torque necessary for technical off-road recovery. Its shorter wheelbase gives it a tighter turning circle and better breakover angles than the 5-door version, making it a favorite for desert weekenders.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is designed for durability and ease of cleaning, featuring a high-performance air conditioning system that is specifically tuned for extreme Gulf temperatures. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, ensuring comfort during long summer drives across the desert. Despite its compact 3-door exterior, the cabin offers a high seating position for excellent visibility in highway traffic and enough cargo space for weekend camping gear.

Safety

This Prado TX comes standard with essential safety features including dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) for stable stopping on loose sand or wet tarmac. The reinforced body-on-frame construction provides a rugged safety cell, while the full-time 4WD system ensures maximum traction during sudden rainstorms or fast-moving highway merges.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the prestige and reliability of a Land Cruiser Prado in a more maneuverable, fuel-efficient package, this GCC-spec 3-door TX is an unbeatable opportunity.
