Mercedes Benz E300 ELEGANCE

Highlights

• 252 hp from a 3.5-litre V6 engine
• 80-litre fuel tank capacity
• 540 litres boot space

Summary

This GCC-spec E300 Elegance represents the W212 generation at its peak, offering the sought-after naturally aspirated V6 powertrain that regional buyers value for its long-term reliability. Silver remains one of the most resilient colors for resale in the UAE, effectively masking desert dust while maintaining a professional executive presence. Despite the mileage, these specific E-Class models are frequently used for cross-emirate commutes thanks to their exceptional high-speed stability and robust chassis. For a buyer seeking a prestigious daily driver that balances mechanical simplicity with classic Mercedes-Benz refinement, this Elegance trim is a particularly strategic choice in the current pre-owned market.

This Car vs Other 2012 E300s

While the 200,750 km mileage is higher than a typical secondary vehicle, it aligns with average GCC executive use of approximately 20,000 km per year. The silver exterior is a high-demand resale color in the local market, offering better heat reflection and easier maintenance compared to darker shades.

ELEGANCE vs Lower Trims

The Elegance trim focuses on classic luxury, providing Burr Walnut wood interior trim and a comfort-tuned suspension that is significantly more forgiving on uneven road surfaces than the stiff Avantgarde or Sport setups. It also includes additional exterior chrome detailing and ambient interior lighting that creates a more premium cabin atmosphere during night drives.

E300 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW 5 Series or Audi A6 of the same era, the E300 offers a larger 80-litre fuel tank, which is a major advantage for non-stop journeys between Dubai and Riyadh. Its 540-litre boot capacity also leads the German trio, providing superior practicality for family road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 9.2 L/100km combined, though highway cruising often sees figures drop to 7.0 L/100km. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a widespread authorized service network across all seven Emirates, ensuring parts like the 7G-Tronic transmission components are readily available. The W212 generation currently enjoys strong value retention in the UAE due to its reputation for build quality compared to later, more complex models.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5-litre V6 delivers 252 hp, providing smooth and linear acceleration that is ideal for confident highway overtaking. The 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission is specifically tuned for refinement, ensuring the car remains hushed and composed even at maximum cruising speeds. With a focus on long-distance comfort, the drivetrain is engineered to handle the extreme heat of GCC summers without compromising performance.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is insulated with high-grade acoustic glass to minimize road noise during high-speed commutes. The Elegance trim features powerful multi-zone climate control designed to reach target temperatures quickly in 45°C+ heat, complemented by dedicated rear vents. Luxury touches include power-adjustable seating with memory functions and high-quality leather upholstery that resists wear effectively.

Safety

Safety is anchored by Mercedes-Benz's Pre-Safe system and Attention Assist, which monitors driver fatigue during long desert highway drives. Standard features include a comprehensive array of nine airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Adaptive High-beam Assist to improve visibility on unlit rural roads.

The bottom line

This is an ideal opportunity for an executive commuter who prioritizes the mechanical durability of a GCC-spec V6 over low mileage, wrapped in a high-resale silver finish.
