Summary

This GCC-spec Mercedes-Benz GLK300 represents a standout choice for buyers prioritizing low usage and regional suitability, with mileage significantly below the market average for its 14 years. The white exterior is the most preferred color for the GCC used market, ensuring strong resale value and better heat reflection during the summer months. Its 3.0-litre V6 engine provides a more refined, naturally aspirated power delivery that contemporary turbocharged rivals often lack. For a GCC owner, this vehicle offers a rare combination of compact city maneuverability and German-engineered highway stability. The most important consideration for a local buyer is the benefit of its regional specification, which includes cooling systems optimized for the Middle Eastern climate.

This Car vs Other 2012 GLK300s

At just 68,000 km, this vehicle has been driven less than 5,000 km per year, which is exceptionally low for the GCC where 20,000–25,000 km is typical. This low mileage suggests it was likely a secondary family vehicle, preserving its mechanical integrity far better than higher-mileage examples. The white finish is a strategic advantage, as it is the fastest-selling and highest-retained value color in the regional used market.

GE vs Lower Trims

The GE trim enhances the GLK300 experience with 19-inch alloy wheels and standard all-wheel drive, providing a more planted feel than the base rear-wheel-drive variants found in other markets. It typically includes the upgraded COMAND infotainment interface and premium interior finishes that GCC luxury buyers expect. These features ensure the cabin remains a sophisticated environment, holding a higher appeal at resale than entry-level trims.

GLK300 vs Segment Rivals

The GLK300 stands out against rivals like the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 with its distinct, upright boxy design that offers superior outward visibility and easier ingress/egress. While competitors moved toward smaller turbocharged engines, the Mercedes 3.0-litre V6 provides a smoother, more reliable power band suited for long-distance cruising across the Emirates. Its 66-litre fuel tank ensures fewer stops on cross-country drives between Dubai and Muscat.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this V6 powertrain averages approximately 10.2 L/100km combined, which remains competitive for a naturally aspirated SUV of this age. In the UAE and wider GCC, Mercedes-Benz benefits from one of the most robust authorized service networks, ensuring parts are readily available even for older models. The GLK300 has shown stable value retention in the local market, benefiting from its reputation for durability compared to more complex modern crossovers.

Performance & Capability

The 231 hp V6 engine delivers a top speed of 210 km/h, providing ample power for confident highway overtaking at speed. With 201 mm of ground clearance and a permanent 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, it is well-equipped for weekend excursions to gravel wadis or light sandy tracks. The 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission is tuned for smooth shifts, prioritizing cabin comfort during daily commutes in stop-start city traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed with high-quality soft-touch materials and excellent acoustic insulation, keeping road noise to a minimum even at highway speeds. The climate control system is specifically engineered to handle peak summer temperatures, featuring dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool. With the rear seats folded, cargo capacity expands to 1,550 litres, offering enough space for large family shop runs or outdoor gear.

Safety

This GLK300 comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including multiple airbags and the Mercedes-Benz Electronic Stability Program (ESP) for improved traction on varied surfaces. It features highly effective ventilated disc brakes and ABS, which are crucial for safety on high-speed regional highways. The vehicle's upright pillar design significantly reduces blind spots, aiding driver awareness in dense city traffic.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a buyer seeking a prestige German SUV that has been used sparingly and is perfectly adapted for the GCC's unique driving demands.
