Summary

This Mercedes-Benz ML350 with the AMG Kit is a sharp choice for buyers seeking a premium family SUV that maintains significant road presence in the GCC. The naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 is widely regarded for its mechanical simplicity and long-term durability, making it well-suited to the high-heat demands of the region. With 160,000 km, the mileage is perfectly average for a 2014 model in the UAE, reflecting typical highway use between emirates rather than heavy city wear. The metallic blue exterior offers a distinctive yet professional look that holds its resale appeal well against the standard white and silver palette. For a GCC buyer, the most important consideration is the robust air conditioning and cooling system, which ensures total cabin comfort even during the peak of summer.

This Car vs Other 2014 ML350s

With 160,000 km on the odometer, this ML350 sits right at the average for a decade-old vehicle in the GCC, where 15,000–20,000 km per year is the standard due to long highway commutes. The blue exterior is a sophisticated alternative to more common colors and remains a strong resale choice in the local market. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it carries a value premium over imported American or European models, ensuring full compatibility with local service centers and parts networks.

AMG KIT vs Lower Trims

The AMG Kit adds significant aesthetic and handling value over the standard ML350, featuring more aggressive front and rear bumpers, flared side skirts, and larger AMG-style alloy wheels that GCC buyers actively look for. Inside, you typically find a sportier steering wheel and higher-grade upholstery, alongside features like a sunroof and premium audio that are often optional on base trims. This package ensures the car retains a modern look that competes visually with newer SUV generations.

ML350 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the BMW X5 and Lexus RX, the ML350 leads with a massive 690-litre boot capacity, making it the practical leader for family road trips across the Emirates. Its 93-litre fuel tank is specifically advantageous for long-distance desert highway drives, offering a greater cruising range than many competitors. While rivals focus on agility, the Mercedes prioritizes cabin insulation and ride comfort, which is highly valued during high-speed highway travel in the region.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 averages approximately 10.5–11.5 L/100km, which is competitive for a mid-size SUV in GCC stop-start traffic and long-range cruising. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km in the UAE, and the M-Class platform benefits from an extensive authorized service network across all GCC countries, including Saudi Arabia and Oman. The ML350 depreciates at roughly 12-15% annually in the local market, holding its value better than its European peers due to the reliability of its naturally aspirated powertrain.

Performance & Capability

The 272 hp V6 engine provides smooth, linear power delivery that is ideal for confident highway overtaking and merging into fast-moving UAE traffic. The 4MATIC All-Wheel Drive system ensures stability on gravel tracks and during occasional rainy weather, while the 200mm+ ground clearance is ample for weekend beach trips or light desert trails. With a braked towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg, it is also one of the most capable vehicles in its class for hauling jet skis or trailers.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat layout is designed for luxury, featuring high-quality materials and an air conditioning system engineered to drop cabin temperatures rapidly in 45°C+ heat. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents and generous legroom, ensuring comfort on long drives from Dubai to Muscat or Salalah. The cabin is exceptionally quiet, utilizing acoustic glass and thick insulation to block out wind noise during high-speed highway cruising.

Safety

This trim comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite, including multiple airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Pre-Safe technology that prepares the cabin for a potential impact. Key features for the GCC include Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, which provide essential support on busy six-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The ML350 carries a 5-star safety rating, making it one of the most secure choices for a family vehicle in the region.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec ML350 with the AMG Kit is the ideal opportunity for a family or professional wanting Mercedes-Benz prestige and durability without the high depreciation of a newer model. It is a well-balanced, mechanically sound SUV that is perfectly adapted for immediate use in the local climate.
