Summary

This Mercedes-Benz ML350 stands out with its desirable AMG Kit, offering a more aggressive aesthetic that remains highly popular in the UAE market. While many SUVs of this era show significant wear, the white exterior provides a strong advantage for local resale as it’s the most sought-after color for heat reflection and value retention. The 3.5-litre V6 is widely regarded as one of Mercedes’ most reliable powertrains, specifically suited for the high-speed, long-distance highway commutes between Emirates. For a GCC buyer, this model offers the perfect balance of prestige and practicality, outperforming smaller crossovers in cabin quietness and highway stability. It is a robust choice for families who need the premium feel of a Mercedes with the durability to handle local summer temperatures.

This Car vs Other 2014 ML350s

With 190,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is consistent with typical GCC usage for a decade-old luxury SUV, where long-distance highway driving is the norm. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, as it significantly aids in cabin cooling and traditionally holds the highest resale value in the UAE. While American-spec vehicles can sometimes differ in equipment, they often feature higher standard tech packages compared to base GCC-spec equivalents.

AMG KIT vs Lower Trims

The AMG Kit on this ML350 elevates the vehicle with more aggressive front and rear bumpers and side skirts, providing the look of the high-performance ML63. Inside, this trim typically adds premium features that GCC buyers value, such as a sunroof, powered leather seats, and the enhanced COMAND infotainment system. These aesthetic and functional upgrades make the vehicle much easier to resell compared to the standard, non-kitted base models.

ML350 vs Segment Rivals

The ML350 leads rivals like the BMW X5 and Lexus RX in overall cabin insulation and 'vault-like' build quality, making it more comfortable for cross-country trips to Oman or Ras Al Khaimah. Its 93-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range compared to many smaller-tanked rivals, a vital feature for the long stretches of highway between major GCC cities. Additionally, the Mercedes V6 offers a smoother power delivery that feels more refined in heavy city traffic than the turbocharged four-cylinders found in newer competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The ML350 averages approximately 12.4 L/100km in mixed driving, reflecting the reality of UAE highway speeds and stop-start city traffic. Maintenance is straightforward due to the extensive network of authorized Mercedes-Benz service centers and specialized independent garages throughout the UAE and Saudi Arabia. While luxury SUVs depreciate faster than economy brands, the ML-Class maintains a loyal following in the secondary market, especially for models equipped with the AMG styling kit. Annual depreciation for this model year has stabilized, offering a predictable ownership cost for the next few years.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5-litre V6 engine delivers a verified 302 hp, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 7.6 seconds, which provides confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. While it lacks a low-range transfer case for heavy dune bashing, its ground clearance and robust suspension are well-suited for gravel farm roads and beach weekend trips. The 7-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, ensuring the vehicle remains composed even during the hottest summer months.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed with GCC family logistics in mind, offering generous legroom and a quiet environment that filters out road noise effectively. The air conditioning system is famously powerful, a necessity for the region, and is supported by rear-seat vents to ensure all passengers remain cool during 45°C+ summer days. The boot space is ample for airport runs or large grocery trips, further enhanced by a power liftgate for added convenience.

Safety

This model earned a 5-star NHTSA safety rating, providing peace of mind through a comprehensive suite of airbags and stability systems. Standard safety includes Attention Assist to detect driver fatigue during long desert drives and Pre-Safe technology that prepares the cabin for a potential collision. The rigid unibody construction is complemented by advanced braking assistance, which is essential for handling the fast-braking scenarios common on multi-lane GCC highways.

The bottom line

This AMG-kitted ML350 is the ideal entry point for a buyer seeking Mercedes-Benz prestige and V6 reliability in a package that holds its look and value better than standard trims.
