Ford F-150 SVT RAPTOR SUPER CAB

Highlights

• 411 hp from a 6.2-litre V8
• 284 mm maximum front suspension travel
• FOX Racing Shox internal bypass dampers standard

Summary

This 13-year-old SVT Raptor is the definitive naturally aspirated desert king, powered by the legendary 6.2L V8 that purists still prefer over later turbo models. In the GCC, these Gen 1 Raptors have become modern classics, holding their value remarkably well due to their bulletproof mechanical reputation and unmatched presence. The Super Cab configuration offers a shorter, more agile wheelbase for technical dune driving while still providing a functional 5-seat cabin. Finished in a high-demand blue that typically commands a premium at resale, this example represents a rare opportunity to own a low-volume performance icon that was purpose-built for the extreme heat and terrain of the region.

This Car vs Other 2013 F-150s

With 190,000 km, this truck sits comfortably below the 260,000 km average expected for a GCC pickup of this age. While standard F-150s from this era are often retired workhorses, the SVT Raptor is typically maintained as an enthusiast vehicle, meaning better mechanical preservation. The iconic blue exterior is a hallmark of the SVT brand and remains a top-tier resale color in the local market.

SVT RAPTOR SUPER CAB vs Lower Trims

The SVT Raptor is a total mechanical departure from standard F-150 trims like the XLT or Lariat, featuring a track widened by 7 inches and a specialized long-travel suspension. It standardizes off-road essentials that other trims lack, including the Torsen front differential, electronic locking rear axle, and internal-bypass FOX Racing Shox. Inside, you get SVT-specific bolstered seats and a dedicated auxiliary switch panel for aftermarket lighting, which is a common requirement for desert night drives.

F-150 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro or RAM 1500 of the same era, the Raptor offers a much more specialized high-speed desert racing platform rather than just a lifted truck. Its dedicated cooling system and reinforced frame components are specifically engineered to handle the thermal stress of GCC sand driving better than its rivals. While standard trucks focus on payload, the Raptor leads in high-speed damping and chassis control across rough terrain.

Running Costs & Resale

The 6.2L V8 is a robust, simple engine well-suited to the GCC's 95 or 98 octane fuel, avoiding the complexity of modern turbocharged systems. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 16.5 L/100km, which is expected for a performance truck of this displacement. Ford's extensive service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures that parts and expert technicians are always accessible, contributing to the Raptor's unusually slow depreciation rate compared to European performance SUVs.

Performance & Capability

Generating 411 hp and 588 Nm of torque, this V8 powerhouse is designed for high-speed desert traversing and heavy sand climbs. The truck features a massive 284 mm of front and 305 mm of rear suspension travel, allowing it to soak up impacts that would damage standard 4x4s. It is equipped with a 4.10 axle ratio and a selectable Off-Road Mode that recalibrates the throttle and transmission for maximum control in dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

Despite its rugged exterior, the cabin is surprisingly refined with leather-trimmed seats and a premium Sony audio system. The Super Cab layout includes rear-hinged doors for easy access to the back row, while the dual-zone climate control is powerful enough to handle 45°C+ GCC summers. This trim often features ventilated front seats and power-adjustable pedals, making long-distance drives between emirates effortless.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of front and side-curtain airbags along with AdvanceTrac stability control specifically tuned for roll prevention. For the GCC, the most useful features are the integrated trailer sway control and a front-view camera system that helps navigate crests in the dunes. High-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps are standard on this trim, providing superior visibility during late-night highway or desert travel.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who values naturally aspirated V8 reliability and genuine Baja-proven hardware, this GCC-spec Raptor is a highly collectible workhorse that is ready for both the city and the deepest dunes.
