Jaguar XF LUXURY

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds
• Top speed of 241 km/h
• 500 litres boot space

Summary

This 13-year-old Jaguar XF represents a refined entry into the executive sedan segment, offering a sophisticated British alternative to the standard German rivals. With 107,000 km, its mileage is significantly below the GCC average for its age, making it an attractive choice for those seeking a well-preserved luxury cruiser. The black exterior is a perennial favorite in the UAE market, ensuring strong resale appeal and a timeless aesthetic on the road. Powered by a responsive 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with a smooth 8-speed automatic, it balances daily efficiency with the effortless highway cruising Jaguar is known for. For the GCC buyer, this XF provides a premium cabin experience that remains composed and comfortable even during the peak summer months.

This Car vs Other 2013 XFs

At 107,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 8,200 km per year, which is exceptionally low for the GCC where annual averages often exceed 20,000 km. While many XFs of this vintage have transitioned into high-mileage territory, this example remains in a prime usage bracket. The black-on-black color combination is highly sought after in the regional used market, providing a distinct advantage for future value retention compared to less conventional colors.

LUXURY vs Lower Trims

The Luxury trim serves as a well-appointed gateway to the XF range, featuring Bond grain leather upholstery and a 7-inch full-color touchscreen as standard. It includes essential GCC features such as dual-zone automatic climate control and dusk-sensing HID headlamps that improve visibility during dusty conditions. Unlike base models in other markets, this GCC-spec Luxury trim benefits from the refined 8-speed ZF automatic transmission across the board.

XF vs Segment Rivals

The Jaguar XF stands out against the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6 with its distinct 'J-Blade' LED signature and a cabin that feels more like a boutique lounge than a corporate office. It leads many rivals in boot capacity with 500 litres of usable space, making it more practical for family trips between emirates. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine was a benchmark at launch, offering more standard torque than the equivalent Audi A6 2.0 TFSI of the same era.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.0T engine averages approximately 8.9L/100km on a combined cycle, though GCC city traffic may see slightly higher figures. Jaguar has an established authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring that parts and expertise are readily available. While European luxury sedans typically see an annual depreciation of 12-15% in the GCC, the low mileage and popular color of this specific unit help it sit on the more favorable end of that curve.

Performance & Capability

The XF delivers 240 hp and 340 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 7.9 seconds, which remains competitive for modern highway merging. Its top speed of 241 km/h demonstrates the aerodynamic efficiency and stability inherent in its design. The double-wishbone front suspension ensures sharp turn-in and composed handling on the winding roads of Jebel Hafeet or during high-speed cruising on the E11.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is famous for its 'theatre' start-up sequence, where the rotary gear selector rises and air vents rotate open. For the GCC climate, the powerful dual-zone AC system is designed to rapidly cool the cabin even after the car has been parked in direct sun. The 5-seat layout provides ample legroom for adult passengers, and the acoustic glass helps maintain a hushed environment, isolating the cabin from desert wind noise at highway speeds.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite of active and passive systems, including six airbags and dynamic stability control. The XF features Electronic Brake Force Distribution and emergency brake assist, which are vital for maintaining control during sudden stops in fast-moving highway traffic. This trim also includes rear parking sensors to assist in navigating tight urban parking spaces in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

The bottom line

This Jaguar XF is an ideal opportunity for a professional looking for an executive presence with a below-average mileage profile that is rare for a 2013 model in the GCC.
