Summary

This 13-year-old LX570 Platinum represents one of the most resilient luxury SUVs in the GCC used market, offering a blend of mechanical durability and flagship comfort. With 167,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 12,800 km per year, significantly below the GCC average of 20,000 km, suggesting careful ownership. The Gold exterior is a neutral, sun-reflective choice that holds up well against the regional climate and maintains solid resale appeal. While newer models have transitioned to turbocharged engines, this 2013 edition is prized for its naturally aspirated 5.7L V8, renowned for long-term reliability in extreme heat. For a buyer seeking a high-status family cruiser that can handle both Dubai highway commutes and weekend desert excursions, this GCC-spec Platinum remains a benchmark choice.

This Car vs Other 2013 LX570s

With only 167,000 km on the odometer, this example stands out in a market where these V8 workhorses often exceed 250,000 km within their first decade. The Gold paint is a practical advantage in the GCC, as it masks desert dust effectively and keeps the cabin cooler than darker shades. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it avoids the cooling system and radio frequency issues often found in imported North American counterparts.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim elevates the LX570 with several features that are essential for the local climate, most notably the ventilated front seats and a factory-integrated refrigerator in the center console. It upgrades the standard audio to a 19-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system and adds the Rear Seat Entertainment package with dual screens. You also benefit from the 360-degree camera system, providing much-needed visibility for parking this large SUV in tight urban spaces.

LX570 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Infiniti QX80 and Cadillac Escalade, the LX570 leads in off-road hardware with its sophisticated Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select systems. While rivals may offer more engine power, the Lexus is preferred in the GCC for its superior air conditioning performance and the industry-leading reliability of its powertrain. Its body-on-frame construction ensures it handles the corrugated roads of the Northern Emirates with far more composure than monocoque luxury rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.7L V8 typically averages around 15-17L/100km, which is standard for a vehicle of this weight and displacement. Owners benefit from the most extensive service network in the region, with Al-Futtaim and other GCC authorized centers providing easy access to parts and specialized technicians. The LX570 historically enjoys the slowest depreciation rate in its class, often retaining a higher percentage of its value after a decade than any European competitor.

Performance & Capability

The 381 hp V8 provides smooth, linear power that makes highway overtaking effortless, even when fully loaded with eight passengers. Its true strength lies in its 4x4 capability, featuring a Torsen limited-slip center differential and active height control that can raise the vehicle for deep sand. Whether you are cruising at 140 km/h on the E11 or navigating a wadi, the All-Wheel Drive system and 6-speed automatic transmission offer a refined and predictable experience.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of Semi-Aniline leather and high-quality wood trim, designed to seat eight in total comfort. Four-zone climate control ensures that even third-row passengers stay cool during the peak of the Arabian summer. The acoustic glass and heavy insulation result in one of the quietest interiors in the segment, effectively isolating the driver from wind noise and city traffic.

Safety

This Platinum trim includes a comprehensive safety suite featuring 10 airbags and active front headrests. Standard driver aids include Blind Spot Monitoring, which is vital for multi-lane GCC highways, and a Pre-Collision System with Adaptive Cruise Control. The Multi-terrain ABS is specifically tuned to reduce stopping distances on loose surfaces like sand and gravel, providing an extra layer of security for weekend adventurers.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who prioritizes mechanical peace of mind and legendary resale value without sacrificing flagship luxury, this low-mileage Platinum LX570 is the definitive choice.
