Mercedes Benz E300 ELEGANCE

Highlights

• Naturally aspirated V6 engine
• 540 litres boot space (standard configuration)
• 80-litre fuel tank standard

Summary

This Japanese-spec Mercedes-Benz E300 Elegance offers a compelling blend of low mileage and traditional luxury that is increasingly rare in the GCC market. With just 77,000 km over a decade, this sedan presents significantly less wear than the typical 200,000 km+ examples found locally. The Elegance trim prioritizes a softer, more compliant ride compared to the stiffer Avantgarde, making it ideal for the long highway stretches between emirates. Finished in white, the most heat-reflective and resale-stable color in the region, it remains a prestigious choice for those valuing mechanical simplicity and comfort. Its all-wheel-drive system provides added stability during the rare but heavy rainy seasons or on gravel-strewn bypass roads.

This Car vs Other 2013 E300s

At only 77,000 km, this E300 is an outlier in the GCC used market, where 2013 models typically exceed 220,000 km due to heavy inter-city commuting. The Japanese regional specification is highly regarded locally for maintaining interior plastics and leather quality better than many desert-sun-exposed examples. Furthermore, the white exterior is the highest-demand color for resale in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring better value retention than darker alternatives.

ELEGANCE vs Lower Trims

The Elegance trim distinguishes itself by focusing on a 'Luxury' rather than 'Sport' identity, featuring classic Burr Walnut wood trim and a traditional radiator grille. Unlike the Avantgarde or AMG-line variants, the Elegance retains a standard suspension height and softer damping, which is widely preferred by GCC buyers seeking maximum isolation from road noise and surface imperfections during long drives.

E300 vs Segment Rivals

The E300 leads rivals like the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6 in long-distance touring range thanks to its substantial 80-litre fuel tank, reducing stops on cross-country trips. While competitors moved toward smaller turbocharged units, this model's 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6 is prized in the region for its predictable maintenance and ability to handle extreme summer heat without the complexities of turbo cooling. Its 540-litre boot also offers superior depth for family luggage compared to many executive peers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 10.5 L/100km in GCC stop-start city traffic, improving significantly on the highway. Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the most robust authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are always readily available. The E-Class remains a benchmark for value retention in the executive sedan segment, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its immediate European competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 231 hp V6 provides a smooth, linear power delivery that is perfectly suited for high-speed cruising on the E11 or E311 highways. Equipped with All-Wheel Drive, the car offers enhanced traction on slippery surfaces and improved high-speed stability compared to rear-wheel-drive versions. It achieves a balanced performance that emphasizes composed handling and refinement over aggressive acceleration.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to be a sanctuary from the GCC summer, featuring a high-capacity climate control system that quickly cools the five-seat interior. The Elegance trim’s focus on comfort is evident in the seat cushioning and the use of premium materials that remain cool to the touch. With its large glass area and refined insulation, the E300 provides excellent visibility and a quiet environment even at highway speeds.

Safety

This E300 comes equipped with Mercedes-Benz's comprehensive safety suite, including the PRE-SAFE system which prepares the cabin for a potential impact. It features multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and advanced braking systems that are vital for navigating fast-moving highway traffic. The W212 generation has historically performed exceptionally well in global safety testing, earning top marks for occupant protection.

The bottom line

This low-mileage E300 Elegance is a rare find for a GCC buyer who wants the prestige of a Mercedes-Benz V6 with the ride comfort that modern sport-trimmed sedans often lack.
