Summary

This specific Toyota Land Cruiser is an extraordinary find in the GCC market, combining exceptionally low mileage for its age with the top-tier VXR trim. While most SUVs of this era have covered double or triple the distance on regional highways, this unit remains in prime condition, offering a rare opportunity to own a legendary 5.7L V8 powerhouse. The black exterior is highly sought after in the secondary market, ensuring it retains its value and presence on the road. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is perfectly adapted for the local climate and terrain, standing far above rivals like the Nissan Patrol in terms of long-term mechanical reliability and resale strength. For any buyer in the region, the combination of the VXR's luxury features and this vehicle's low usage makes it one of the most sensible and prestigious pre-owned purchases available. It represents the gold standard of regional motoring, blending indestructible engineering with a level of comfort that remains competitive even by modern standards.

This Car vs Other 2013 Land Cruisers

When looking at the 2013 model year in the GCC, the average Land Cruiser has typically covered between 200,000 and 250,000 km given the region's heavy reliance on long-distance commuting. At just 68,000 km, this vehicle is in a different league entirely, representing a 'time capsule' quality that is incredibly difficult to source. The low mileage means the powertrain, suspension components, and interior upholstery have seen significantly less wear than almost any other 2013 model currently listed. The black exterior is a premier choice in the UAE and Saudi markets, often commanding a quicker sale and better price retention than lighter or less traditional colors. This specific listing is ideal for a collector or a family driver who wants the classic 200-series reliability without the high-mileage risks. It offers the peace of mind of a much newer vehicle while maintaining the rugged charm of the 2013 facelifted generation.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR is the absolute pinnacle of the Land Cruiser hierarchy, and the differences between it and the GXR or EXR trims are substantial. Choosing the VXR grants you the 5.7L V8 engine, providing a massive jump in torque and towing capacity over the 4.0L or 4.6L variants found in lower trims. Inside, the VXR is equipped with premium leather seating and a more sophisticated wood-grain trim that elevates the cabin's atmosphere significantly. It also includes the full hydraulic Multi-Terrain Select system and Crawl Control, which are often simplified or absent on entry-level models. Furthermore, the VXR features a superior JBL Synthesis audio system and a rear-seat entertainment package that is essential for keeping passengers occupied during long drives across the Emirates. Buyers also benefit from the sunroof and ventilated seat options which are specific to this high-grade trim, making a noticeable difference in comfort during the peak GCC summer months.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

In the GCC, the Land Cruiser primarily competes with the Nissan Patrol Y62 and the Chevrolet Tahoe. While the Patrol offers a slightly more modern interior for that year, the Land Cruiser leads the segment in sheer durability and the ability to withstand extreme heat over a decade of use. Its cooling system is widely regarded as the most robust in the class, capable of maintaining ice-cold cabin temperatures even when the outside thermometer hits 50°C. Compared to the Tahoe, the Land Cruiser offers a much more capable four-wheel-drive system with a proper low-range transfer case that makes it a genuine desert-ready vehicle rather than just a highway cruiser. The fuel tank capacity is also optimized for regional travel, allowing for massive range between the major cities of the GCC. Ultimately, the Land Cruiser wins on the 'peace of mind' factor, as it has the most extensive support network in the Middle East.

Running Costs & Resale

The Land Cruiser is legendary for having the lowest depreciation rate of any SUV in the GCC, often retaining up to 60-70% of its value after five years, which is unheard of for European rivals. While the 5.7L V8 is a thirsty engine, averaging around 15.7 L/100km in combined cycles, it runs perfectly on local 95 or 98 octane fuel without the sensitivity issues found in turbocharged engines. Service intervals are typically every 5,000 or 10,000 km, and the cost of parts is remarkably low due to the sheer volume of these vehicles on the road. Authorized service centers like Al Futtaim in the UAE or Abdullah Hashim in Saudi Arabia ensure that professional maintenance is never more than a short drive away. This GCC-spec model also avoids the insurance and registration hurdles often associated with American or Japanese imports. Investing in a Land Cruiser VXR is widely considered the safest financial bet in the regional automotive market.

Performance & Capability

Under the hood lies the 362 hp 5.7L V8, an engine designed for effortless torque and longevity rather than just raw speed. It allows this massive SUV to reach 100 km/h in roughly 7.5 seconds, which is impressive for a vehicle of its size and weight. The true performance, however, is felt in its 530 Nm of torque, which makes overtaking on the E11 highway effortless even when fully loaded with eight passengers. Its off-road capability is world-class, featuring a Torsen limited-slip center differential and a variety of terrain modes that can handle everything from the soft dunes of Liwa to the rocky wadis of Hatta. The 225 mm of ground clearance ensures that you can navigate obstacles that would stop most crossovers in their tracks. Whether you are towing a boat to the coast or heading into the deep desert, the Land Cruiser provides a sense of mechanical invincibility that few other vehicles can match.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the VXR is a spacious sanctuary designed to seat eight adults in genuine comfort across three rows. The air conditioning system is a quad-zone climate control setup that is arguably the best in the world, featuring dedicated vents for every single passenger to combat the desert heat. The front seats are wide and supportive, featuring electric adjustments and memory settings that make long-distance touring a pleasure. Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels are kept to a minimum through extensive soundproofing, ensuring the cabin remains quiet even at high cruising speeds. The rear 10.1-inch screens and the integrated cool box in the center console are standout features for GCC families, providing chilled beverages on demand during road trips. High-quality materials and soft-touch plastics ensure that even after a decade, the cabin feels tight, rattle-free, and premium.

Safety

Safety in the 2013 VXR is comprehensive, featuring ten airbags as standard to protect occupants in all three rows. It includes an array of active systems such as Vehicle Stability Control, Active Traction Control, and Multi-terrain ABS which is specifically calibrated for sand and gravel surfaces. For highway driving, the Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert systems provide essential assistance in the busy, multi-lane traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. The Pre-Collision System and Adaptive Cruise Control were ahead of their time in 2013, offering an extra layer of protection by monitoring the distance to the vehicle ahead. The robust ladder-frame chassis also provides a high level of passive safety, acting as a protective shell in the event of an impact. This vehicle is built to the highest safety standards, ensuring that your family is protected whether you are on a school run or a cross-border expedition.

The bottom line

This is a rare 'unicorn' listing for the GCC: a top-of-the-range VXR with incredibly low mileage that has lived its life in the ideal environment. It is the perfect choice for a buyer who values long-term reliability and the highest possible resale value in the Middle East.
