Summary

This 2014 Land Cruiser GXR is a standout choice for buyers seeking the perfect balance of legendary 200-series durability and daily-driver practicality. Finished in white—the most sought-after color for heat reflection and resale value in the GCC—this V6 model offers a more fuel-efficient alternative to the V8 without sacrificing the robust body-on-frame foundation. With 157,000 km, it sits comfortably within the average mileage range for a decade-old cruiser in this region, where long highway commutes are the norm. The GXR trim provides the essential comfort features required for the local climate, including a powerful cooling system and a factory refrigerator. For the GCC owner, this represents a low-risk investment in one of the world's most reliable automotive platforms.

This Car vs Other 2014 Land Cruisers

At 157,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 15,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km for large SUVs. The white exterior is a massive advantage in the local market, as it retains the highest resale value and offers superior thermal management during summer. While many 2014 models in the market have exceeded 200,000 km, this example remains in its mechanical prime.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim is the preferred mid-range choice in the UAE, adding essential luxuries over the base EXR. Key upgrades include the center console cooler box (fridge), which is vital for long desert drives, and enhanced interior woodgrain trim for a more premium cabin feel. It also features 18-inch alloy wheels and front fog lamps that distinguish it from entry-level utility-spec variants.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Nissan Patrol (Y62) and Chevrolet Tahoe, the Land Cruiser leads in long-term mechanical simplicity and parts availability across all seven Emirates. Its 138-liter dual-tank system offers a superior cruising range for cross-border trips compared to American rivals. While the Patrol focuses on on-road tech, the Land Cruiser’s specialized low-range hardware makes it the more trusted companion for weekend dune drives.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is remarkably reliable and avoids the higher maintenance costs associated with the larger V8s. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 13.2 L/100km on highways, though stop-start city traffic will see this rise. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive service network in the GCC, parts are affordable and available in every major city. This model holds the highest value retention in the region, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually.

Performance & Capability

Powered by the 271 hp VVT-i V6, this Land Cruiser is built for endurance rather than sprinting, reaching 100 km/h in approximately 10.5 seconds. Its true strength lies in its 225 mm ground clearance and full-time 4WD system with a Torsen limited-slip center differential. Whether navigating soft sand or towing heavy loads, the selectable low-range gearing provides the torque multiplication needed for the GCC's toughest terrains.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is configured for 8 passengers with a versatile 2-3-3 seating layout, providing ample legroom for large families. The GCC-spec air conditioning is world-class, featuring independent rear cooling vents to ensure all passengers remain comfortable in 45°C heat. The GXR cabin is further enhanced by a leather-wrapped steering wheel and high-quality fabric seats designed to withstand high UV exposure without cracking.

Safety

Safety is managed by a robust suite of active systems, including ABS, Brake Assist (BA), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). Dual front airbags and side-impact protection are standard, providing peace of mind for family transport. The vehicle’s heavy body-on-frame construction offers an inherent safety advantage in highway traffic, complemented by a stable All Wheel Drive system that maintains grip on both asphalt and loose gravel.

The bottom line

This is the ideal vehicle for a family or enthusiast who wants the legendary reliability of a Land Cruiser with the sensible running costs of a V6, presented in the GCC's most desirable color and trim combination.
