• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This Land Cruiser GXR is a standout find in the GCC market, combining the legendary durability of the 200-series with exceptionally low mileage for its age. While most examples from this era have crossed the 200,000 km mark, this vehicle presents as a well-preserved mechanical survivor. The V6 powertrain is highly favored across the UAE and Saudi Arabia for its balance of adequate power and lower long-term maintenance costs compared to the V8 alternatives. Its black exterior remains a classic choice that holds strong resale appeal across the region, especially when paired with the original GCC specification. For a buyer seeking the ultimate desert-capable workhorse that hasn't been overworked, this listing represents a rare opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2011 Land Cruisers

With only 72,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less ground than the GCC average of 25,000 km per year, which would typically put a 2011 model well over 300,000 km. This low usage translates to a tighter chassis and a powertrain with decades of life remaining. The black paint is a high-demand resale color in the local market, offering a more executive look than the standard white while maintaining strong secondary market value.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim is the preferred 'sweet spot' for GCC buyers, adding essential comfort features over the entry-level EXR such as a cooled center console (cool box) and front/rear parking sensors. It retains the robust mechanical simplicity required for serious off-roading while stepping up the interior experience with better climate controls and upgraded upholstery. These specific features, particularly the factory refrigerator, are highly valued in the extreme summer heat of the Middle East.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Nissan Patrol or Mitsubishi Pajero of the same era, the Land Cruiser leads in total fuel range thanks to its standard dual-tank system, which is crucial for long-distance desert crossings or travel between GCC borders. Its body-on-frame architecture is widely regarded as the benchmark for durability, surviving harsh terrain that often compromises the long-term structural integrity of its rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 is known for its bulletproof reliability in the GCC climate, with service intervals typically every 10,000 km at extensive authorized networks like Al-Futtaim or Abdullah Hashim. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 13.2 L/100km, a figure that is manageable given the massive 138-liter combined fuel capacity. The Land Cruiser remains the gold standard for value retention in the region, typically depreciating just 8-10% annually, which is significantly better than European luxury SUV competitors.

Performance & Capability

Engineered for the dunes, this GXR features a dedicated low-range transfer case and a robust all-wheel-drive system that delivers 240 hp with high low-end torque. The 225mm ground clearance ensures it can handle deep sand and rocky wadis with ease, making it a favorite for weekend overland trips. On the highway, the 4.0L engine provides a smooth, reliable cruise with enough power for confident overtaking on the E11 or other major regional motorways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is configured for eight passengers, featuring a powerful multi-zone air conditioning system designed specifically to handle 45°C+ temperatures. The second and third rows include dedicated ceiling vents to ensure all passengers remain cool during long midday drives. The factory-fitted refrigerator in the center console is a standout feature for GCC life, keeping beverages chilled even during peak summer heat.

Safety

This GCC-spec GXR comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including dual front airbags, side curtain airbags for all three rows, and electronic stability control (VSC) to maintain composure on loose gravel or sand. The inclusion of front and rear parking sensors and a high-strength steel frame ensures peace of mind during both tight city parking in Dubai and high-speed highway travel.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast or family looking for a legendary off-roader with 'time-capsule' mileage, this GCC-spec Land Cruiser is a secure investment that promises years of reliable service.
