Summary

This 2016 Chevrolet Impala LTZ represents the top-tier configuration of one of the most spacious sedans available in the region. Powered by a robust 3.6L V6 delivering 305 horsepower, it is perfectly suited for long-distance cruising on GCC highways while providing significant overtaking confidence. As the LTZ trim, it offers a premium cabin experience with leather appointments and advanced safety features that far exceed the basic LS and LT models. Its Burgundy exterior provides a sophisticated look that stands out in a market dominated by white and silver, while maintaining strong visual appeal for future resale. This model is a go-to for buyers who prioritize American-style road presence and a quiet, isolated ride over smaller, more rigid rivals.

This Car vs Other 2016 Impalas

While the 270,000 km mileage reflects a history of significant highway travel, it is consistent with the long-distance use typical for full-size sedans in the GCC. The American regional spec ensures high feature content, though buyers should verify local service history as it differs from official GCC-allocated units. This specific 10-year-old vehicle offers the most powerful engine available for the year, making it mechanically more desirable than the smaller 4-cylinder alternatives found in the used market.

LTZ vs Lower Trims

The LTZ trim is a significant upgrade over the LS and LT, adding essential safety tech like Forward Collision Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert. Inside, the cabin is transformed with leather-appointed seating and the Chevrolet MyLink system on an 8-inch touchscreen with hidden motorized storage. It also features High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps and larger alloy wheels that provide a more executive stance compared to the base models.

Impala vs Segment Rivals

The Impala leads competitors like the Toyota Avalon and Nissan Maxima in pure trunk volume, offering a massive 532 litres of space. Its 3.6L V6 provides more standard horsepower than the equivalent Avalon, ensuring a more responsive feel during high-speed highway merging. The interior dimensions are particularly generous, offering rear-seat legroom that rivals many executive-class vehicles.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption is estimated at approximately 10.6 L/100km combined, which is competitive for a heavy V6 sedan in this class. Chevrolet has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring that mechanical parts and specialized maintenance are readily accessible. The LTZ trim generally holds its value better than lower trims in the local market due to the high demand for luxury features and the reliable 6-cylinder powertrain.

Performance & Capability

The 305 hp V6 allows this large sedan to reach 100 km/h in approximately 6.5 seconds, providing surprising agility for its size. The 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth, linear power delivery, making it an excellent choice for the daily commute between emirates. Standard high-performance brake lining and a premium electric rack-and-pinion steering system provide stable, predictable handling even in high-temperature summer conditions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for maximum isolation with acoustic-laminated glass and triple-sealed doors to keep desert wind noise at bay. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard, with dedicated rear vents ensuring all five passengers remain comfortable during peak summer heat. The LTZ interior features premium French stitching and soft-touch materials, creating a refined atmosphere for long cross-country drives.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus for the LTZ trim, which comes equipped with 10 standard airbags and a suite of active driver alerts. Key systems include Lane Departure Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are invaluable for navigating busy multi-lane highways. The vehicle's StabiliTrak electronic stability control and traction systems are specifically calibrated to maintain composure on varied surfaces, from hot asphalt to rain-slicked city streets.

The bottom line

This Impala LTZ is an ideal choice for the executive or family buyer looking for maximum interior space and V6 power at a competitive price point. It offers a level of comfort and technology that remains impressive even at 10 years old, making it a standout value workhorse in the local market.
