Summary

This 2010 Lexus IS300 is a quintessential luxury workhorse for the UAE, offering a refined V6 powertrain that has long been a favorite in the region. At 16 years old, its mileage reflects a history of consistent use, yet the Lexus reputation for mechanical longevity makes it a reliable choice compared to European rivals of the same era. The silver exterior is highly practical for the GCC, resisting heat soak while maintaining the strongest possible resale demand. As a Navigation trim, it brings essential tech upgrades that elevate it above base models, making it a sophisticated yet sensible entry into premium sedan ownership. For a buyer seeking a blend of prestige and predictable running costs, this GCC-spec IS300 remains a standout option.

This Car vs Other 2010 IS300s

With 288,000 km, this vehicle has covered more distance than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for the UAE, yet it represents the mechanical durability Lexus is known for in extreme climates. The silver finish is a significant advantage in the GCC market, as it is the most sought-after color for heat management and long-term resale value. Being a genuine GCC-spec model ensures the cooling system and air conditioning are optimized for the region's intense summer temperatures.

NAVIGATION vs Lower Trims

The Navigation trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience over the base IS300 by adding a factory voice-activated navigation system and a high-resolution touchscreen interface. This trim often includes the upgraded Lexus Premium Sound System with 13 speakers and integrated Bluetooth streaming, features that were premium options for the 2010 model year. Additionally, this package typically bundles a rear backup camera, providing better visibility for city parking in tight Dubai or Abu Dhabi spaces.

IS300 vs Segment Rivals

The IS300 leads rivals like the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class in long-term reliability and air conditioning performance, which is a critical differentiator during Gulf summers. Its 3.0-liter V6 offers a smoother power delivery compared to the turbocharged four-cylinder engines found in many competitors, providing a more relaxed highway cruising experience. The Lexus also benefits from a much wider authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring easier access to parts and specialized care.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.0L V6 engine typically averages around 9.7 L/100km, which is efficient for a six-cylinder sedan on the long highway stretches between emirates. Lexus remains one of the highest-retained value brands in the GCC, with the IS series specifically holding its price better than European luxury sedans due to lower maintenance overheads. Service intervals are generally every 10,000 km, and with the extensive Al Futtaim and Ebrahim K. Kanoo networks, maintaining a GCC-spec Lexus is straightforward and cost-effective across the region.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.0L V6 producing 228 hp, the IS300 provides linear, dependable power that is perfectly suited for overtaking on the E11. The rear-wheel-drive chassis paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission delivers a balanced and engaging drive while maintaining the quiet cabin insulation Lexus is famous for. Its 66-liter fuel tank offers a substantial range, reducing the frequency of stops during long-distance drives across the GCC.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features high-quality leather upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents, essential for maintaining passenger comfort in 45°C heat. The Navigation trim's center console is intuitive, housing the screen that controls both entertainment and vehicle settings. Acoustic glass helps minimize road noise, creating a peaceful environment for the daily commute or weekend road trips.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive for the 2010 model year, featuring a suite of eight airbags and stability control as standard. The Navigation trim adds a backup camera for safer reversing, while the standard anti-lock braking system (ABS) and brake assist provide reliable stopping power on fast-moving highways. The IS generation was engineered with high-tensile steel to provide a rigid safety cell, earning top marks in contemporary crash testing.

The bottom line

This IS300 is ideal for the budget-conscious professional who wants Lexus prestige without the high depreciation of a newer model. It is a proven, GCC-ready sedan that offers the best resale color and the most desirable tech trim for its year.
