Summary

This 2016 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is a rare find in the GCC market, combining exceptionally low mileage of just 55,000 km with the timeless mechanical character of the W463 generation. While many examples of this age have exceeded 150,000 km, this unit has been preserved in a classic black finish, which remains one of the most liquid colors for resale in the region. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it features the heavy-duty cooling systems essential for maintaining peak performance during extreme summer heat. For a collector or enthusiast, this represents one of the best-maintained examples of the 5.5L twin-turbo era, offering a significantly higher level of exclusivity than newer mass-produced generations.

This Car vs Other 2016 G63 AMGs

With only 55,000 km on the odometer, this G63 has covered less than 6,000 km per year—far below the GCC annual average of 20,000 km. Most 10-year-old G-Wagens in the UAE show significant wear from heavy highway use, but this low-mileage example retains the factory-fresh mechanical tightness that is increasingly difficult to find. The black exterior is the most sought-after color in the Emirates, ensuring this car will hold a price premium compared to less conventional shades.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the G63 AMG, this model features the hand-built 5.5L biturbo engine and the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-TRONIC transmission, providing a massive 114 hp increase over the G550. It includes essential GCC luxury upgrades like ventilated front seats and a designo leather interior as standard. The presence of the iconic side-exit exhaust system and red-painted brake calipers immediately distinguishes this high-performance trim from the standard G-Class lineup.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Range Rover SVR, the G63 offers superior off-road hardware with its unique triple-locking differential system, making it far more capable in deep sand. While rivals like the Porsche Cayenne focus on track handling, the G63's body-on-frame construction provides a level of durability suited for the rugged terrain of the Hajar Mountains. The 96-litre fuel tank also provides a significant range advantage for long-distance desert crossings between Dubai and Salalah.

Running Costs & Resale

The G63 AMG is a cornerstone of the UAE used car market, enjoying some of the lowest depreciation rates in the luxury SUV segment, often losing less than 12% value annually. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 13.8 L/100km combined, though GCC city traffic can see this rise during peak summer months. Mercedes-Benz maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts and expert technical support are readily available for this generation.

Performance & Capability

The 530 hp V8 delivers a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.4 seconds, accompanied by the signature AMG V8 burble that has made this model a cultural icon in the GCC. It features a genuine low-range transfer case and three independent locking differentials, allowing it to navigate soft sand dunes that would stop most luxury crossovers. The 210 km/h electronically limited top speed is reached with effortless stability, making it an ideal companion for high-speed highway cruising.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is tailored for the harsh Middle Eastern climate, featuring a powerful triple-zone climate control system and high-performance ventilated seats. The designo leather upholstery stays cooler than standard synthetics, while acoustic glass helps insulate passengers from both heat and road noise during long drives. The upright seating position provides commanding visibility, which is highly valued for navigating both dense city traffic and off-road trails.

Safety

Standard safety systems on this G63 include Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control and Blind Spot Assist, which are vital for safety on fast-moving multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The vehicle is also equipped with the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) specifically tuned for the G-Class's high center of gravity, alongside a 360-degree camera system to assist in tight urban parking. Six airbags and reinforced side-impact beams provide comprehensive protection for all five passengers.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage, GCC-spec W463 G63 AMG in the market's most desirable color, offering the perfect balance of iconic heritage and verified mechanical longevity.
