Summary

This GCC-spec G63 AMG represents the final era of the raw 5.5-litre biturbo V8, a powertrain favored by local enthusiasts for its distinct mechanical character and aggressive exhaust note. With silver being a top-tier choice for resale in the region, this specific unit balances iconic presence with practical heat management. It stands out from modern iterations by offering a more visceral, body-on-frame driving experience that has become a staple of UAE automotive culture. The mileage is consistent with a vehicle used for regular highway commutes between emirates, ensuring the mechanical components have been cycled correctly for this climate. For a buyer seeking the definitive 'G-Wagon' silhouette with verified regional durability, this listing is a high-value entry point into AMG ownership.

This Car vs Other 2017 G63 AMGs

With approximately 141,000 km, this vehicle aligns with the average GCC annual usage of 20,000 km for high-end SUVs, indicating it has been driven regularly rather than sitting idle in high heat. The silver exterior is a strategic advantage in the local market, consistently ranking as one of the fastest-moving colors at resale due to its ability to reflect sun and hide desert dust. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a significant value premium over imported American or European models that often lack the reinforced cooling systems required for local summers.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

While the G-Class range includes the G500, the G63 AMG trim is the primary choice for GCC buyers, adding the hand-assembled biturbo V8 and the signature side-exit exhaust system. This trim features high-performance 20-inch wheels, larger perforated brakes, and the AMG-specific body styling that defines the model's presence on UAE roads. Inside, the G63 standardizes premium touches like ventilated front seats and an Alcantara headliner, which are essential for comfort during the extended GCC summer months.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 competes directly with the Range Rover SVR and the Lexus LX570, leading the segment with its unique triple-locking differential system for genuine off-road capability. While rivals offer more car-like monocoque handling, the G63’s body-on-frame construction provides superior durability for desert weekend excursions. Its upright design also offers a commanding driving position that remains unmatched for visibility in fast-moving highway traffic common in Dubai and Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 13.8 L/100km combined, though GCC city traffic will see this rise significantly; however, the 96-litre main tank plus a 14-litre reserve provides sufficient range for long Dubai-to-Muscat highway drives. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km in the GCC, with an extensive network of authorized Gargash and EMBED centers across the UAE ensuring parts are always available. The G63 holds some of the strongest value retention in the luxury SUV segment, typically depreciating slower than its European counterparts due to perpetual local demand.

Performance & Capability

Propelled by 530 hp, this SUV reaches 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, an impressive feat for a vehicle designed with military-grade off-road foundations. It features a dual-range 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and three independent differential locks that can be engaged on the fly, making it one of the few luxury vehicles truly capable of tackling deep sand dunes. On the highway, the electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h is delivered with the stability expected of a heavyweight AMG, making overtaking effortless.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring standard ventilated and heated front seats to ensure comfort regardless of the external temperature. The five-seat layout provides 38.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, making it practical for family road trips or luxury shopping excursions. Acoustic glazing helps insulate the interior from both desert heat and wind noise during high-speed highway cruising, while the Harman Kardon audio system provides premium sound quality.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes Mercedes-Benz's DISTRONIC adaptive cruise control and Blind Spot Assist, which are highly valuable for the multi-lane highway systems of the GCC. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive airbag system and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) tuned specifically for the G-Class's high center of gravity. Additionally, the standard rearview camera and parking sensors help navigate the large footprint in tight urban parking environments.

The bottom line

This G63 AMG is the ideal choice for a buyer who values the mechanical purity of the 5.5L V8 and wants a GCC-spec icon with a high-resale color profile.
