Summary

This 2014 Bentley Flying Spur W12 is a premier choice for those seeking the pinnacle of executive luxury in a rare and sophisticated brown finish. With its hand-built 12-cylinder engine and European regional specification, it offers a refined mechanical character that stands apart from standard GCC executive sedans. At 12 years old, the mileage is well within the expected range for a high-performance grand tourer in this region, where long-distance highway cruising is standard. The Flying Spur's blend of silent speed and handcrafted interior remains unmatched by newer, mass-produced rivals, making it a distinctive opportunity for the discerning buyer. For ownership in the GCC, its all-wheel-drive stability and immense torque provide effortless performance even during the peak summer months.

This Car vs Other 2014 Flying Spurs

At 120,932 km, this Flying Spur has averaged approximately 10,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km for executive vehicles. While many Flying Spurs are found in common black or white, this brown exterior offers a unique aesthetic that holds a sophisticated niche in the secondary market. As a European spec model, it retains the original continental tuning and features, though buyers should ensure local service centers have updated the infotainment for regional navigation.

W12 vs Lower Trims

The W12 represents the top of the Flying Spur range, providing 616 hp compared to the 500 hp found in the later-introduced V8 trim. Beyond the raw power of the 12-cylinder engine, this trim includes a more sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and advanced air suspension as standard. It also features higher-grade leather hides and more extensive wood veneer options throughout the cabin that were optional extras on the V8 models.

Flying Spur vs Segment Rivals

The Flying Spur leads rivals like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series by offering a hand-built W12 engine, a configuration that provides superior smoothness and prestige. Its 90-litre fuel tank is specifically designed for cross-border grand touring, ensuring fewer stops on long drives between Dubai and Riyadh. Unlike its more clinical German competitors, the Bentley focuses on tactile luxury, utilizing genuine metal brightware and deep-pile carpets.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the W12 is approximately 14.7 L/100km on a combined cycle, though GCC city traffic will see higher figures. Bentley maintains a strong authorized service presence across major GCC hubs including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha, with recommended service intervals every 16,000 km. While European luxury sedans typically depreciate by 12–18% annually in the UAE, the W12 trim tends to stabilize better due to the enduring demand for Bentley's flagship 12-cylinder powertrain.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 producing 800 Nm of torque, allowing for effortless overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways. Despite its substantial presence, the 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system propel the car to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. The active air suspension automatically lowers the vehicle at high speeds to improve stability and aerodynamics, perfect for long desert highway stretches.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 5-seat sanctuary featuring multi-zone climate control and heavy insulation designed to keep the GCC summer heat at bay. Rear passengers benefit from ample legroom and dedicated cooling vents, while the front seats offer multi-way power adjustment and memory settings. The interior is finished in handcrafted materials, providing a hushed environment that remains quiet even at high cruising speeds.

Safety

Standard safety features include a comprehensive array of airbags and advanced stability control systems tuned for high-speed grand touring. The all-wheel-drive system provides essential traction on gravel-dusted roads, while the large ventilated disc brakes ensure consistent stopping power for a vehicle of this size. Parking sensors and a clear infotainment interface assist in navigating tighter urban environments.

The bottom line

This W12 Flying Spur is the ideal choice for an executive who values traditional Bentley craftsmanship and 12-cylinder power over modern mass-market luxury.
