Summary

This 2017 Bentley Flying Spur W12 is an exceptional find for the GCC market, offering the rare combination of low mileage and the prestigious 12-cylinder powertrain. Finished in a deep Blue that holds its value well in the region, this executive sedan offers a level of road presence that rivals the Rolls-Royce Ghost while providing a more engaging driving experience. With only 55,000 km, it has been driven significantly less than the 20,000+ km annual average typically seen on UAE highways, making it a mechanically fresh example of Bentley's legendary grand tourer. For the buyer who demands effortless cross-border cruising power and a hand-crafted cabin that remains unfazed by the summer heat, this W12 trim is the definitive choice.

This Car vs Other 2017 Flying Spurs

At 55,000 km, this Flying Spur has averaged just under 8,000 km per year, which is remarkably low for a GCC-based luxury sedan where long commutes often result in double that figure. The Blue exterior is a sophisticated alternative to the common silver or white, yet it remains a high-liquidity color that supports strong resale value in the secondary market. Finding a W12 variant with this level of mechanical headroom is increasingly difficult in the local market.

W12 vs Lower Trims

The W12 trim is a significant step up from the V8, replacing the 4.0L unit with a hand-assembled 6.0L twin-turbocharged powerhouse that delivers 600 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Beyond the engine, this trim includes a higher standard of interior appointments, including the full leather headliner and the iconic Breitling analog dashboard clock. It also features a more sophisticated air suspension calibration designed to handle the extra weight of the 12-cylinder block with absolute composure.

Flying Spur vs Segment Rivals

The Flying Spur W12 leads the Mercedes-Benz S600 and BMW M760Li in terms of handcrafted heritage and 'Old World' luxury materials, utilizing significantly more real wood and hide. Its 90-litre fuel tank provides a superior range for non-stop journeys between Dubai and Riyadh, while the permanent all-wheel-drive system offers better high-speed stability on wind-swept desert highways compared to rear-wheel-drive competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The W12 powertrain requires Super 98 fuel to maintain its performance and reaches roughly 14.4 L/100km in combined driving, though GCC city traffic will see this rise. Service intervals are recommended every 15,000 km or 12 months, with Bentley's authorized service network being well-established in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. While European luxury cars typically depreciate by 12–18% annually in the GCC, the W12 trim tends to find buyers faster than the V8 due to its flagship status.

Performance & Capability

The 600 hp W12 engine enables a 0–100 km/h sprint of just 4.6 seconds, an incredible feat for a sedan weighing over 2.4 tonnes. The permanent all-wheel-drive system features a 40:60 rear-biased torque split, ensuring that the massive 800 Nm of torque is translated into smooth, sure-footed acceleration on both paved roads and sandy coastal stretches. The top speed of 320 km/h confirms its status as one of the fastest four-door cars ever produced.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of hand-stitched leather and mirror-matched wood veneers, featuring a four-zone climate control system specifically engineered to cool the large interior rapidly in temperatures exceeding 45°C. Both front and rear seats offer heating, ventilation, and multiple massage modes, ensuring fatigue-free travel during long interstate drives. Acoustic glazing and thick insulation keep the cabin silent, isolating passengers from road noise and the harsh GCC sun.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite of systems including Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) with traction control and hydraulic brake assist, essential for managing high-speed maneuvers on highway surfaces. This W12 model comes standard with a full array of front, side, and curtain airbags, along with front and rear parking sensors and a high-resolution rearview camera to assist in tight urban environments.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage, GCC-spec W12 Bentley that has been spared the high-wear typical of regional luxury cars. It is the perfect acquisition for the executive who values the prestige of a 12-cylinder engine and the comfort of a hand-built British interior.
