Summary

This 2017 Ford F-150 XLT is an exceptionally rare find in the GCC market, showing just 58,000 km—roughly a third of the typical mileage expected for a truck of this vintage. Powered by the dependable 5.0L V8, it offers the mechanical simplicity and robust exhaust note that many local enthusiasts prefer over smaller turbocharged alternatives. The black exterior is not only a prestigious aesthetic choice but also one of the strongest colors for maintaining resale value across the Emirates. Built to handle the region's demands, this F-150 effortlessly transitions from high-speed highway cruising to heavy-duty weekend hauling. For a buyer seeking a near-pristine example of the world's favorite pickup without the new-car price tag, this listing represents a significant value opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2017 F-150s

While most 2017 pickups in the GCC have surpassed the 150,000 km mark through heavy highway use, this example has covered just 58,000 km, placing it in the top tier of available inventory. The black-on-black configuration is a high-demand specification in the local used market, ensuring faster liquidly and stronger price retention than silver or white work-spec alternatives. Its low usage means the suspension bushings and cooling components remain in significantly better condition than higher-mileage rivals.

XLT vs Lower Trims

The XLT trim provides a significant leap in daily usability over the base XL, replacing basic steel wheels with 17-inch silver-painted aluminum alloys and adding chrome exterior accents. Inside, you gain the SYNC infotainment system and power-adjustable components that are often manual on lower trims. Crucially for the GCC climate, the XLT includes upgraded cloth upholstery that remains cooler to the touch during peak summer months compared to the vinyl found in entry-level work trucks.

F-150 vs Segment Rivals

The F-150 leads the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra in weight efficiency thanks to its high-strength, military-grade aluminum-alloy body, which also provides superior corrosion resistance in humid coastal areas like Dubai or Muscat. Its 5.0L V8 offers a more traditional linear power delivery compared to the RAM 1500’s Hemi, making it easier to modulate when navigating soft sand. Additionally, the F-150’s flat-loading rear floor remains the segment benchmark for interior cargo flexibility.

Running Costs & Resale

The naturally aspirated 5.0L V8 is renowned for its long-term durability in extreme heat, avoiding the turbo-related maintenance common in smaller engines. While city fuel consumption averages 14.5 L/100km in GCC stop-start traffic, highway efficiency improves significantly during long cross-country drives between emirates. With Ford’s extensive Al Tayer and Premier Motors service network, parts are readily available and affordable. The F-150 typically retains roughly 60-65% of its value after three years in the GCC, outperforming most European SUVs in the same price bracket.

Performance & Capability

With 385 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque, this V8 powerhouse delivers a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 6.9 seconds, ensuring confident overtaking on the E11 highway. The robust 4x4 system includes a dedicated low-range mode, making it fully capable of tackling desert dunes or rocky wadis. Its massive 4,581 kg towing capacity is ideal for those hauling heavy boat trailers or equestrian equipment across the region.

Comfort & Cabin

This unique 6-seater configuration features a 40/20/40 front bench, allowing for an extra passenger or a massive fold-down armrest when not in use. The air conditioning system is specifically tuned for the Middle East, providing rapid cabin pull-down even when exterior temperatures exceed 45°C. Deep tinting and acoustic glass help insulate the interior from both the desert heat and highway wind noise, ensuring a quiet, refined environment for long-distance family road trips.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite including Curve Control and Trailer Sway Control, which are vital for stability when driving at highway speeds with a load. The cabin is protected by a full array of dual-stage front and side-curtain airbags, contributing to its high safety ratings. Standard ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution ensures consistent stopping power even on the loose gravel surfaces often found off the beaten path in the Northern Emirates.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who values mechanical longevity and low mileage, this V8 F-150 is a rare opportunity to own a legendary American workhorse in its most desirable regional specification.
