Summary

This Honda Accord EX is a highly sought-after mid-trim that strikes a perfect balance between features and fuel efficiency for the GCC market. At 9 years old with 134,000 km, the mileage is well below the regional average of roughly 180,000–225,000 km for a car of this age, representing a significant buying advantage. The White exterior is the strongest resale color in the UAE, providing excellent heat reflection and long-term value retention. This generation is famous for its mechanical simplicity and is arguably more durable than the turbocharged models that followed it. It remains one of the most practical daily drivers for anyone commuting between emirates or navigating stop-start city traffic.

This Car vs Other 2017 Accords

With 134,000 km on the odometer, this car has been driven approximately 15,000 km per year, which is notably lower than the 20,000–25,000 km average typical for used cars in the GCC. While many high-mileage rivals show signs of heavy highway wear, this lower-usage example offers better mechanical longevity and a fresher interior. Its white paint is the preferred choice for the local used market, ensuring faster resale and easier maintenance compared to darker shades.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim adds several high-value features over the base DX and LX trims that are essential for the GCC climate, most notably the Remote Engine Starter, which allows you to cool the cabin before entering. You also get the Honda LaneWatch camera system, a power moonroof, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Visually, the EX is distinguished by 17-inch alloy wheels and LED fog lights, which offer better visibility during occasional dust storms.

Accord vs Segment Rivals

The Accord is frequently cross-shipped with the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima, but it leads the segment in terms of driving dynamics and interior material quality. While the Camry is a fleet favorite, the Accord offers a more premium feel with better cabin insulation and a more responsive chassis. Its 2.4-liter engine provides a more engaging drive than the Altima's CVT-focused setup, making it a better choice for those who do their own driving rather than being chauffeured.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.4-liter engine averages around 9.0 L/100km, which is impressive for a sedan of this size. Service intervals at authorized Al-Futtaim centers are generally every 10,000 km, and parts are widely available at competitive prices throughout the UAE and the wider GCC. This model year enjoys a very stable depreciation rate of roughly 8–10% annually, holding its value better than most European luxury rivals in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 189 hp i-VTEC engine is a GCC staple, known for its ability to handle high-speed highway cruising and the extreme summer heat without skipping a beat. It delivers a 0–100 km/h time of approximately 9.5 seconds, providing enough punch for confident overtaking on the E11 or E311 highways. The front-wheel-drive platform is tuned for comfort, absorbing road imperfections while maintaining a composed feel at typical highway speeds of 120–140 km/h.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is exceptionally spacious, offering class-leading rear legroom that makes it suitable for full-sized adults or family road trips. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard, and Honda's AC systems are legendary for their ability to combat 45°C+ summer temperatures quickly. The active noise cancellation helps keep the interior quiet, a major plus during long drives across the desert between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the EX trim, which includes the Honda LaneWatch camera that displays your passenger-side blind spot on the central screen when signaling. The car is built on Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure and features a suite of airbags, including side curtains. Standard stability control and a multi-angle rearview camera provide extra security during fast-moving highway merges and tight urban parking.

The bottom line

This lower-than-average mileage Accord EX is a smart buy for a professional or family looking for a reliable, GCC-ready sedan that holds its value and stays cool all summer. It offers the perfect mix of upgraded tech and proven mechanical durability that defines the best of Honda's engineering.
