Mercedes Benz C250 STANDARD

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 6.5 seconds
• 210 hp from a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4
• 480 litres boot space

Summary

This GCC-spec C250 represents a balanced choice in the local pre-owned market, offering more performance than the entry-level C200 without the fuel consumption of a V6. At 9 years old with 126,000 km, its mileage sits below the typical GCC annual average, suggesting it has been used more sparingly for city commutes than long-distance desert crossings. The black exterior remains a top-tier choice for resale strength in the UAE, consistently attracting faster buyers than brighter colors. As an executive sedan, it bridges the gap between premium refinement and daily efficiency, making it a reliable staple for professional commuting in high-traffic environments like Dubai or Riyadh.

This Car vs Other 2017 C250s

With 126,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has averaged roughly 14,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the 20,000–25,000 km typical of highway-heavy GCC driving. Its GCC specification is a major advantage for local buyers, ensuring the cooling systems and electronics are built to withstand 45°C+ summer peaks. The black finish is not only a classic executive choice but also one of the most liquid colors for future resale in the regional market.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The C250 trim provides a meaningful power bump over the C200, jumping from 184 hp to 210 hp using the same 2.0L displacement. In the GCC market, this trim typically adds desirable standard features like the 9G-TRONIC transmission for smoother highway cruising and upgraded LED lighting systems. It also includes enhanced safety tech such as Blind Spot Assist, which is vital for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic on the E11 or Sheikh Zayed Road.

C250 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW 330i and Audi A4, the C-Class leads in cabin material quality and perceived luxury, offering a 'mini S-Class' aesthetic that rivals struggle to match. Its 66-litre fuel tank provides a long cruising range, an essential factor for those frequently traveling between Emirates or across GCC borders. The Mercedes-Benz COMAND system also offers a more traditional, tactile interface that many local drivers prefer over purely touch-based competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 2.0L turbo averages around 7.5 to 8.5 L/100km, performing efficiently during highway stints while remaining manageable in stop-start city traffic. Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the strongest authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring easy access to genuine parts. While European luxury sedans typically depreciate by 12-18% annually in the GCC, the C250's popularity ensures it holds value better than niche luxury rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 210 hp output allows for a sharp 0-100 km/h sprint of 6.5 seconds, providing confident overtaking power on high-speed desert highways. The rear-wheel-drive chassis and 350 Nm of torque offer a balanced, engaging driving experience that feels planted even at top speeds of 250 km/h. Multiple drive modes, including Sport and Eco, allow the driver to calibrate the 9-speed automatic transmission to suit either fuel-conscious commuting or spirited weekend drives.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat cabin features high-quality Artico upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control specifically tuned for rapid cooling in extreme heat. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, a necessity for passenger comfort during the long GCC summer months. The 480-litre boot is spacious enough to accommodate family luggage for weekend staycations or golf kits without compromising rear-seat legroom.

Safety

This C250 comes standard with a robust safety suite including 9 airbags and Mercedes-Benz's Pre-Safe system, which prepares the cabin for an imminent collision. Active features like Attention Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring provide essential support during long desert drives where driver fatigue can occur. The stability control system is expertly calibrated for maintaining traction on surfaces occasionally affected by sand or light gravel.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec C250 is an ideal opportunity for a professional seeking a low-mileage German sedan that balances prestige with lower running costs than its V6 counterparts.
