• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This Nissan Patrol is a definitive choice for GCC buyers seeking the power of the 5.6L V8 in its most prestigious LE Platinum configuration. While the mileage reflects active use across the region's highways, these vehicles are engineered for extreme durability and long-distance desert trekking. The white exterior is the most practical and sought-after color in the market, ensuring excellent heat reflection and strong resale demand. Compared to its V6 siblings, this V8 model offers the essential torque needed for effortless highway overtaking and serious dune driving. It remains a benchmark for reliability, supported by a service network that spans every corner of the UAE and the wider GCC.

This Car vs Other 2017 Patrols

With 190,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 27,000 km per year, which is typical for a primary family SUV in the GCC. While higher than some weekend-only cars, this mileage indicates a mechanically healthy engine regularly used for long-distance cruising rather than short-trip city cycles. The white paintwork is a significant advantage for local resale value, as it is the most preferred color for both temperature control and ease of maintenance.

LE PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum sits at the top of the hierarchy, providing the high-output 400 hp V8 engine that lower SE and LE Titanium trims lack. It adds essential GCC luxury features including a 360° Around View Monitor, ventilated front seats, and a premium 13-speaker Bose audio system. You also benefit from a rear-seat entertainment system and 20-inch machine-finished alloy wheels, which are often expensive upgrades on mid-tier models.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol leads the Toyota Land Cruiser in on-road refinement and interior cabin space, offering a more luxurious experience for eight passengers. Its massive 140-litre fuel tank provides superior range for cross-emirate trips compared to most European luxury SUVs. Additionally, the Patrol's Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) system provides a flatter, more stable ride on highways than the softer suspension setups found in American full-size rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 averages around 14.4 L/100km, though this can increase in heavy Dubai or Riyadh traffic. Resale value remains exceptionally strong in the UAE, with the Patrol traditionally retaining more value over three to five years than almost any other vehicle in its class. Authorized service centers are available in every major city, and parts are readily accessible through a vast network of distributors across the region.

Performance & Capability

The 5.6L V8 delivers 400 hp and 560 Nm of torque, providing plenty of power for towing and effortless high-speed cruising. It features a selectable All-Mode 4WD system with dedicated Sand, On-road, Snow, and Rock modes, specifically tuned for Middle Eastern terrains. With approximately 273 mm of ground clearance, it is equally capable of navigating steep dunes during weekend escapes as it is handling daily commutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a dedicated eight-seater designed for the harsh GCC summer, featuring a high-capacity air conditioning system with dedicated vents for all three rows. The front seats are both heated and ventilated, providing essential relief during the peak heat of July and August. High-quality leather upholstery and acoustic glass ensure the cabin remains quiet and cool even at highway speeds.

Safety

This trim includes a full suite of advanced safety technology, featuring an Around View Monitor with moving object detection, which is vital for parking a vehicle of this size. It also comes equipped with Intelligent Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, and Blind Spot Intervention, which are highly effective for maintaining safety on fast-moving multi-lane highways. Standard side and curtain airbags provide comprehensive protection for all eight occupants.

The bottom line

Perfect for the large family that refuses to compromise on power or luxury, this V8 Patrol is a proven GCC workhorse that offers the best resale security in its segment.
