Summary

This 2017 Rolls Royce Ghost SWB represents a rare opportunity to own a meticulously maintained example of the world's most prestigious sedan with remarkably low mileage for its age. While the average GCC car covers over 20,000 km annually, this vehicle has been driven sparingly, preserving its mechanical integrity and showroom-fresh appearance. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the region, ensuring maximum heat reflection during summer months and securing the highest possible resale value for the future. Powered by a legendary V12, it offers a level of silent, effortless performance that no competitor in the ultra-luxury segment can truly replicate. As a GCC-spec model, it comes fully prepared for the unique climatic demands of the Middle East, offering superior cooling and regional warranty compatibility. For the executive buyer or collector in the UAE, this specific listing stands out due to its balance of low usage and timeless specification.

This Car vs Other 2017 Ghosts

When comparing this specific 2017 Rolls Royce Ghost to others on the market, the primary differentiator is the exceptionally low odometer reading. In a region where long-distance highway commutes between Emirates often result in 2017 models having nearly double or triple this mileage, this vehicle remains in a 'near-new' mechanical state. The White exterior finish is statistically the strongest performing color in the GCC used market, as it remains highly desirable for its ability to stay cool under the intense Arabian sun. This car has clearly been kept in climate-controlled environments, which is essential for preserving the delicate natural leathers and wood veneers found inside a Ghost of this vintage. Choosing a GCC-spec example like this one over a North American or European import ensures that the infotainment, navigation, and cooling systems are all optimized for local infrastructure and temperatures. It represents one of the cleanest and most reliable entries currently available for a 2017 model year buyer.

SWB vs Lower Trims

The SWB or Short Wheelbase trim of the Rolls Royce Ghost is often preferred by owners who enjoy driving themselves rather than being exclusively chauffeured, offering slightly more agile handling while maintaining immense rear-seat luxury. Compared to standard luxury sedans, this trim includes an Bespoke audio system and high-definition theater configuration that is typically an expensive add-on in other vehicles. The interior features upgraded natural grain leathers and hand-polished Malabar wood which are not found in the base configurations of lesser luxury brands. This trim also standardizes the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy rotary controller with a touch-sensitive surface, allowing for intuitive navigation through the car's various systems. Furthermore, the SWB features 21-inch forged wheels and specific suspension tuning that balances the 'Magic Carpet Ride' with a more connected feel for the driver. Every surface is finished in higher-grade materials, from the deep-pile lambswool floor mats to the chrome-finished organ stop vent controls that provide a tactile feel absent in lower-tier models.

Ghost vs Segment Rivals

The Rolls Royce Ghost competes in an elite bracket alongside the Bentley Flying Spur and the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, yet it holds a distinct advantage in brand equity and engine refinement. While its rivals often share components with more common mass-market models, the Ghost feels entirely bespoke, centered around its massive 6.8L V12 powerplant. In the GCC, the Ghost's air conditioning system is widely regarded as superior, capable of dropping cabin temperatures to a comfortable level significantly faster than its European competitors. The rear-hinged 'Coach Doors' offer an unmatched sense of occasion and ease of entry that neither the Bentley nor the Maybach can provide. Additionally, the Ghost’s fuel tank capacity is designed for grand touring, making it ideal for non-stop journeys from Dubai to Muscat or Riyadh without frequent refueling stops. The sheer presence and vertical grille design provide a level of road authority that is essential for navigating the fast-paced highways of the UAE.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a Rolls Royce Ghost in the GCC is a statement of stability, and this model demonstrates some of the lowest depreciation rates in the ultra-luxury segment. While European luxury cars generally see a 12-18% annual dip, a well-maintained Ghost with low mileage often levels off, becoming a collectible asset over time. Real-world fuel consumption for the 6.8L V12 averages around 14-16L per 100km on the highway, though city driving in stop-start traffic will naturally see higher figures. The vehicle requires high-octane 98 Super petrol to maintain the health of its twin-turbocharged system, which is widely available at all ADNOC and ENOC stations. Service intervals are typically every 12,000 km or once a year, and with authorized service centers located in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and across the major GCC capitals, professional maintenance is always accessible. Parts availability is excellent throughout the region, ensuring that this vehicle can be kept in peak condition without the long wait times associated with rarer exotic brands. This GCC-spec status further bolsters resale value, as local buyers prioritize cars that were sold new through regional dealerships.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this Ghost is a magnificent 6.8L V12 engine producing 563 hp, allowing this heavy sedan to glide from 0-100 km/h with a level of silence that is almost haunting. This power is not meant for aggressive track use but for effortless overtaking on the E11 highway, where the car can accelerate from 80 to 140 km/h without the passengers ever feeling a gear shift. The Satellite Aided Transmission uses GPS data to see the road ahead, pre-selecting the correct gear for hills or corners to ensure the smoothest possible delivery of torque. Despite its size, the Ghost is surprisingly capable in city environments, with light steering that makes navigating the tight valet parking areas of Downtown Dubai surprisingly simple. The air suspension system monitors the road millions of times per second, compensating for even the smallest imperfections to maintain a flat, stable chassis. This capability translates into a fatigue-free driving experience, whether you are crossing the border to Oman or simply commuting through the city. The top speed is electronically limited, but it is the car's ability to maintain high speeds with total composure that defines its performance.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside the Ghost, you are insulated from the outside world by over 100kg of sound-dampening materials, creating one of the quietest cabins in automotive history. The five-seat configuration provides ample room for the whole family, with rear passengers enjoying multi-zone climate control that allows for individual temperature preferences—a vital feature during the peak of the GCC summer. The seats are more like luxury armchairs, featuring multiple massage settings and ventilation that keeps occupants cool even on the longest afternoon drives. The Starlight Headliner, if equipped, creates a magical ambiance at night, while the theater-grade audio system provides a studio-quality listening experience. Hand-stitched leather covers almost every surface, including the dashboard and door pockets, ensuring that no plastic is visible or felt. The cabin air is filtered through a sophisticated system that removes dust and allergens, which is particularly beneficial during the region's occasional sandstorms. Every journey in this car feels like a private retreat, making it the perfect sanctuary for the busy professional.

Safety

Safety in the Rolls Royce Ghost is handled by an advanced suite of systems designed to protect without being intrusive. Standard features include an infrared Night Vision camera that can detect pedestrians or animals on dark desert roads long before they are visible in the headlights. The adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning systems are perfectly suited for the long, straight highways of the UAE, reducing driver workload significantly. In the event of a potential collision, the car's Intelligent Safety and Information System (ISIS) coordinates the deployment of airbags and seatbelt pretensioners with millisecond precision. The massive ventilated disc brakes provide incredible stopping power for a vehicle of this weight, supported by advanced stability and traction control systems that keep the car planted even on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces. This 2017 model also includes a 360-degree camera system, making it easy to maneuver safely in crowded urban areas or tight parking garages. It is a vehicle that prioritizes the physical security of its occupants above all else.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec 2017 Rolls Royce Ghost is the ideal choice for a buyer who demands the highest level of prestige and comfort without the steep depreciation of a brand-new model. With its exceptionally low mileage and perfect regional specification, it is a blue-chip investment for anyone looking to navigate the GCC in unparalleled style.
