Toyota Land Cruiser VXR Pristine VXR | GCC Specs | Fully Maintained

Highlights

• Low-range transfer case with locking differentials
• Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) standard
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This Land Cruiser VXR is a quintessential GCC workhorse, offering the highly desirable 4.6L V8 powertrain that balances highway refinement with serious desert capability. With 112,000 km, the mileage is remarkably low for a 2017 model in this region, where high-speed highway commuting often sees vehicles cover double this distance. The white exterior is the gold standard for resale in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, providing excellent heat reflection for the summer months. As the VXR trim, it steps into the luxury bracket with sophisticated suspension and premium interior finishes that separate it from the more utilitarian base trims. For a buyer seeking the legendary reliability of the J200 generation with a higher degree of comfort, this specific listing represents a secure long-term investment.

This Car vs Other 2017 Land Cruisers

While many 2017 Land Cruisers in the GCC have surpassed the 150,000 km mark due to inter-emirate travel, this vehicle sits at a modest 112,000 km, representing roughly 16,000 km per year. The white exterior is the most searched-for color in the local market, ensuring it remains highly liquid at resale compared to darker shades. Its GCC specification ensures the cooling system and air conditioning are optimized for extreme 45°C+ summer peaks.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim is a significant upgrade over the EXR and GXR, most notably adding the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) for superior ride quality on and off-road. Inside, you benefit from a more premium cabin featuring wood-grain accents, a cooled center console refrigerator, and a superior multi-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents. It also typically includes the full-size navigation screen and a 360-degree camera system that makes parking this large SUV much simpler.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser leads with historically superior resale value retention and a more robust body-on-frame durability that many off-roaders prefer. Its 138-liter fuel tank capacity provides a longer cruising range for desert expeditions and long-distance travel to Oman or Saudi Arabia than many European luxury SUVs. The V8 engine configuration is celebrated for its longevity, often reaching 400,000 km with basic maintenance, which rivals with turbocharged V6 engines struggle to match.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.6L V8 typically averages around 14.5L/100km on GCC highways, though city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh can see this rise to 17-18L/100km. Service intervals are every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized service network in the region (Al-Futtaim in UAE, Abdullah Abdulghani in Qatar, etc.), parts are affordable and always in stock. The Land Cruiser remains the king of value retention, typically depreciating at just 8-10% annually compared to 15% for its European competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 300 hp V8 engine delivers a smooth 0-100 km/h time of approximately 8.4 seconds, providing reliable overtaking power on the E11 highway. Its true strength lies in the hardware, featuring a low-range transfer case and Crawl Control that allow it to navigate deep sand dunes with ease. The VXR's sophisticated suspension adjusts in real-time to minimize body roll, making it surprisingly composed for a vehicle of its size during mountain drives in Fujairah or Jebel Jais.

Comfort & Cabin

This 8-seater configuration is ideal for large families, featuring a genuinely usable third row and a powerful air conditioning system that remains cold even in the back during July afternoons. The cabin is well-insulated from wind noise, providing a quiet environment for long drives across the border. Notable tech includes the factory refrigerator in the center armrest, perfect for keeping drinks cold during desert trips, and high-quality leather seating throughout.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on the VXR, including a full suite of airbags, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) which is vital for maintaining grip on loose sand or gravel surfaces. It also features front and rear parking sensors coupled with a 360-degree camera to eliminate blind spots in tight city areas. The robust body-on-frame construction provides a high level of passive protection for all eight occupants.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a family or enthusiast who needs a reliable GCC-spec V8 that hasn't been over-driven. Its combination of low mileage for its age and the prestigious VXR trim makes it a rare find that will likely hold its value for years to come.
