Summary

This 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 offers a sharp entry into the luxury sedan market, combining the brand's iconic aesthetics with a punchy turbocharged powertrain. Its sleek 'four-door coupe' silhouette remains a high-resale favorite in the UAE, especially in this classic grey finish which hides dust well and holds value at trade-in. With mileage reflecting typical highway use between emirates, the car remains mechanically relevant for daily commuting thanks to its efficient dual-clutch transmission. For a GCC buyer, the CLA provides a more prestigious road presence than its compact rivals without the high fuel overhead of a larger V6 sedan. It represents a balanced opportunity to own a modern-looking Mercedes that feels at home in both city traffic and on long stretches of the E11.

This Car vs Other 2018 CLA250s

With 144,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is average for the GCC, where long-distance highway commutes between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi are standard. Unlike many high-mileage examples that suffer from sun damage, the grey exterior is one of the most resilient colors for the local climate, ensuring better paint longevity and higher demand in the local used market. As an American spec model, it often features higher initial technology packages than base GCC units, though buyers should verify service history with local specialists.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The CLA250 Standard comes equipped with several premium features that are often optional on lower-tier entry luxury cars, including 14-way power-adjustable sport seats with memory and dual-zone automatic climate control—a necessity for the UAE summer. It also includes the DYNAMIC SELECT system, allowing you to toggle between ECO, Comfort, and Sport modes to suit different driving conditions across the Emirates. The standard 8-inch display provides a modern interface that elevates the cabin experience over basic competitors.

CLA250 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the BMW 2 Series and Audi A3, the CLA250 leads with a larger 470-liter boot, making it more practical for small families or airport runs. Its 50-liter fuel tank and superior highway aerodynamics provide a cruising range that often exceeds its BMW counterparts, a major advantage for cross-border or long-distance GCC drives. The Mercedes brand perception in this region generally commands a higher level of social prestige and a wider network of independent specialists than its Audi rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption sits at approximately 8.2 L/100km, which is efficient for GCC city-to-highway mixed driving. While European luxury brands typically see 12–18% annual depreciation in the UAE, the CLA-Class benefits from a consistent demand among young professionals, stabilizing its value better than the larger E-Class. Parts availability is excellent across the GCC, with numerous authorized centers in all major cities and a robust aftermarket for American-spec components in the UAE.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers 208 hp and a healthy 350 Nm of torque, ensuring confident overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways. The 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is tuned for rapid shifts, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint of 7.1 seconds and a manufacturer-rated top speed of 210 km/h. Its front-wheel-drive layout provides stable handling on both paved roads and the light gravel surfaces often found in developing residential areas.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around the 'four-door coupe' concept, featuring high-quality simulated leather upholstery that resists heat better than natural hides in the desert sun. The dual-zone climate control is engineered to reach cooling temperatures quickly, complemented by rear vents that ensure passenger comfort during peak summer months. Acoustic glass and high-grade insulation minimize road noise, providing a refined environment for long highway journeys across the region.

Safety

Mercedes-Benz equips the CLA250 with a comprehensive safety suite, including the ATTENTION ASSIST monitor, which is particularly valuable for preventing fatigue on long desert highway stretches. Standard safety features include a rearview camera with active guidelines, eight airbags, and advanced stability control to manage traction on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces. The 2018 model maintains high safety ratings, offering peace of mind for both city and inter-emirate travel.

The bottom line

This CLA250 is an ideal choice for a young professional seeking a stylish, fuel-efficient entry into the Mercedes-Benz brand without the premium price of a GCC-spec unit. It balances eye-catching design with the practical performance needed for daily life in the UAE.
