• 0–100 km/h in 5.3 seconds
• 12.3-inch digital cockpit display standard

Summary

This 2018 E400 Coupe stands out as a sophisticated choice in the GCC used market, offering a high-performance twin-turbo V6 that feels effortless on the E11 highway. With 81,000 km, the mileage is lower than the typical 160,000 km expected for an 8-year-old vehicle in the region, representing a significant long-term value advantage. The Grey exterior is a versatile, high-demand color in the Emirates, ensuring easier resale compared to niche shades. As an American spec model, it offers a premium feature set often found in higher-tier GCC trims, though buyers should verify local service compatibility. It bridges the gap between a daily commuter and a luxury weekend cruiser, perfect for those moving between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

This Car vs Other 2018 E400s

At 81,000 km, this vehicle has covered roughly 10,000 km per year, which is less than half the average annual distance driven by GCC motorists. This low usage translates to significantly less wear on the suspension and cooling systems, which are critical in the high-temperature environment of the Middle East. The Grey finish is a top-tier resale color in local markets like Dubai and Riyadh, holding its value better than brighter alternatives.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The E400 trim provides a substantial performance leap over the E200 and E300, replacing the four-cylinder engines with a 3.0L biturbo V6. In addition to the power upgrade, this trim typically adds larger 18-inch wheels and the high-resolution 12.3-inch COMAND display as standard. For GCC drivers, the more powerful engine provides the necessary torque for confident high-speed overtaking on multi-lane highways.

E400 vs Segment Rivals

The E400 Coupe leads its segment in cabin refinement and pillarless design, offering a panoramic view that rivals like the BMW 6 Series or Audi A5 lack. Its 9G-TRONIC transmission is specifically tuned for smoothness, providing a more relaxed cruising experience than its sport-focused German competitors. The E-Class platform also offers superior rear-seat legroom for a coupe, making it a more practical choice for small families in the region.

Running Costs & Resale

The E400 averages approximately 10.2 L/100km combined, which is competitive for a V6 in GCC stop-start city traffic. As an American spec vehicle, it has already undergone its steepest depreciation curve, offering a lower entry price than a GCC spec equivalent while maintaining strong demand in the UAE's diverse export and local markets. Mercedes-Benz parts are widely available through a vast network of authorized centers and specialist garages across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 3.0L biturbo V6 producing 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, this coupe reaches 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. The DYNAMIC SELECT system allows drivers to toggle between ECO and Sport+ modes, adjusting the 9-speed automatic transmission to suit tight city streets or open desert roads. It maintains remarkable stability at its electronically limited top speed of 209 km/h, ensuring comfort during cross-border drives.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a pillarless side profile that allows for maximum airflow and visibility, a hallmark of Mercedes luxury. Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control and 64-color ambient lighting to set the mood for evening drives along the Corniche. Despite its coupe silhouette, the interior is heavily influenced by the S-Class, utilizing premium materials and acoustic glass to insulate passengers from the intense GCC summer heat.

Safety

This E400 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Attention Assist to monitor driver fatigue during long highway journeys and active brake assist for city safety. Standard features like blind-spot monitoring are essential for navigating fast-moving UAE traffic, while the Surround View camera simplifies parking in narrow urban spaces. The vehicle also includes a robust airbag system and stability control tuned for various road surfaces.

The bottom line

This is an ideal opportunity for a professional looking for a low-mileage, high-performance German coupe that balances executive presence with genuine grand-touring capability in the GCC.
