Summary

This 2018 flagship represents the absolute peak of the S-Class family, offering a level of rear-seat opulence that rivals only Rolls-Royce or Bentley. Powered by a legendary V12 engine, it delivers a whisper-quiet yet immensely powerful driving experience perfectly suited for the long, fast-moving highways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. In the GCC market, the black-on-black color combination remains the most sought-after choice, ensuring it retains a stronger resale profile than lighter or more niche shades. While this is a Korean-spec vehicle, the mechanical foundation is world-class, though local buyers should prioritize a professional inspection to confirm the maintenance history. For the executive looking for a chauffeur-driven sanctuary that makes a statement in Dubai or Riyadh, this is an exceptional value alternative to a brand-new model.

This Car vs Other 2018 S 650s

With 119,000 km on the odometer, this car sits at the average mileage mark for a 2018 high-end luxury sedan in the GCC, where annual travel typically hits 20,000 km. Most of these kilometers are highway-based, which is far easier on the V12 powertrain than city stop-start traffic. The black exterior is the gold standard for resale value in this segment across the region.

MAYBACH vs Lower Trims

The MAYBACH trim extends the wheelbase by 200mm over the standard long-wheelbase S-Class, specifically to benefit rear-seat occupants. The S 650 adds the V12 engine and standard Magic Body Control with Road Surface Scan, which uses cameras to adjust the suspension before you hit a bump. It also includes the Executive Rear Seat Package Plus as standard, featuring twin individual reclining seats and silver-plated champagne flutes.

S 650 vs Segment Rivals

The S 650 leads the Bentley Flying Spur and Rolls-Royce Ghost in daily usability and technology integration. Its 80-liter fuel tank is optimized for cross-emirate trips, while the Mercedes service network in the UAE is significantly more robust than those of its ultra-luxury British rivals. The rear-legroom figures in this Maybach edition are among the highest in the luxury sedan category.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect a combined fuel consumption of approximately 12.7 L/100km, though this will rise in heavy city traffic. As a Korean-spec vehicle, it typically enters the market at a 15–20% lower price point than a GCC-spec equivalent, offering a significant saving for the initial buyer. Authorized service centers like Gargash or EMB are available across the UAE, though some Korean-specific software or radio frequencies may require local adjustment.

Performance & Capability

The 6.0L V12 produces a massive 1,000 Nm of torque, allowing for effortless highway overtaking at any speed. The rear-wheel-drive setup is managed by a smooth 7-speed automatic transmission designed for refinement rather than aggressive shifts. Magic Body Control with the Curve tilting function allows the car to lean into corners, virtually eliminating passenger lateral forces during high-speed travel.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a vault of Nappa leather and hand-polished wood, featuring 43-degree reclining rear seats with massage and ventilation. Four-zone climate control ensures the interior stays at a precise temperature even during the peak of a GCC summer. The 24-speaker Burmester 3D system provides a concert-hall experience, while acoustic glass keeps the desert wind noise entirely at bay.

Safety

This Maybach is equipped with the full Driver Assistance Package, including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and Active Steering Assist for effortless long-distance cruising. The 360-degree camera system and Night View Assist Plus provide essential visibility for night driving on unlit desert roads. It also features Pre-Safe Impulse Side, which inflates seat bolsters to move passengers away from a side impact.

The bottom line

This S 650 Maybach is the ultimate choice for a buyer who wants V12 prestige and first-class comfort at a fraction of the cost of a new model, provided they value the luxury features over the regional spec tag.
