Summary

This 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS represents a sharp opportunity in the GCC market, offering the high-demand GTS performance package at a mileage that is significantly below the regional average for a six-year-old car. Silver is a perennial favorite for resale in the UAE, effectively hiding road dust while maintaining strong value retention. As the top-tier 2.5L model, it bridges the gap between the base variants and the track-focused GT4, providing the perfect balance for both daily driving in Dubai traffic and weekend runs to Jebel Jais. The inclusion of performance-enhancing hardware as standard makes this a purist’s choice that remains civilized enough for the cross-emirate commute. Ownership in the GCC is well-supported by a robust network of authorized service centers, ensuring long-term mechanical reliability.

This Car vs Other 2018 718 Caymans

With just 50,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has averaged roughly 8,300 km per year, which is far below the typical GCC annual average of 20,000 km. While many 2018 models in the region have exceeded 100,000 km due to long highway commutes, this example remains in a lower-wear bracket. The Silver exterior is one of the most practical and sought-after colors in the local used market, ensuring it stays cooler in the summer and retains its value better than more niche shades.

GTS vs Lower Trims

The GTS trim is the most comprehensive 718 package, adding 15 hp over the Cayman S and incorporating expensive options as standard equipment. It features the Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) which lowers the car by 10mm, and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) for superior cornering. GCC buyers will particularly appreciate the standard Sport Exhaust system and the upgraded Sport Design front and rear fascias that give the GTS a far more aggressive road presence than the base or S models.

718 Cayman vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Jaguar F-Type or the BMW Z4, the 718 Cayman GTS leads with its mid-engine layout, providing a level of balance and steering precision that front-engined competitors struggle to match. Its 2.5L turbocharged engine delivers torque much earlier in the rev range, which is ideal for the stop-start nature of city driving in Riyadh or Dubai. The Porsche also offers superior cabin ergonomics and a dual-trunk configuration that provides more total cargo space than most dedicated sports cars in this class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the GTS averages around 9.1 L/100km on combined cycles, though spirited highway driving across the Emirates will see this fluctuate. The car requires premium 98-octane fuel to maintain peak performance and engine longevity in high-temperature conditions. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or 12 months, and Porsche's authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait. The GTS trim historically holds a higher percentage of its value than the base model, making it a safer financial bet in the GCC used market.

Performance & Capability

The GTS produces an impressive 365 hp and 430 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint of just 4.1 seconds when utilizing the Launch Control feature of the PDK transmission. Its top speed of 290 km/h makes it one of the fastest mid-engine coupes in its price bracket, offering effortless overtaking power on the E11 highway. The Porsche Active Suspension Management allows the driver to stiffen the chassis for track days at the Dubai Autodrome or soften it for a comfortable cruise to Abu Dhabi.

Comfort & Cabin

The two-seat cockpit is driver-centric, featuring standard Alcantara and leather upholstery that offers better grip and heat resistance than full leather in the GCC summer. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered to handle extreme temperatures, cooling the compact cabin rapidly even after being parked in the sun. Despite its performance focus, the cabin is well-insulated from road noise, and the Bose Surround Sound system provides a premium audio experience for long-distance travel.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of advanced systems including Porsche Stability Management (PSM), which is essential for maintaining traction on sand-dusted road surfaces. This trim includes high-performance brakes with four-piston aluminum monobloc calipers, ensuring consistent stopping power during high-speed highway driving. Standard features like front and rear park assist and advanced airbag protection provide peace of mind in heavy city traffic.

The bottom line

This 718 Cayman GTS is the ideal choice for a GCC enthusiast looking for a low-mileage, high-spec sports car that balances daily usability with genuine track capability. It is a rare find in this condition and color, representing a stable investment in the current UAE market.
