Summary

This 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo represents a rare opportunity to own the versatile shooting-brake body style, which is no longer in production for the latest generation. With just 69,904 km, this Burgundy example has been driven significantly less than the 160,000 km expected for an 8-year-old vehicle in the GCC, ensuring it remains in peak mechanical health. The Burgundy finish is a sophisticated choice that holds strong appeal in the local luxury market, standing out from the common grayscale palette while maintaining excellent resale potential. For the GCC buyer, this Turbo trim offers the ultimate long-distance grand tourer, combining supercar acceleration with a cabin engineered to remain quiet and cool during trans-emirate summer drives.

This Car vs Other 2018 Panameras

While many 2018 models in the region have exceeded 150,000 km due to frequent highway commuting between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this car's odometer shows only 69,904 km. This lower-than-average usage for an 8-year-old vehicle indicates less wear on the air suspension and cooling systems, which are critical in the UAE's heat. The Burgundy exterior is a prestigious 'Special Color' that commands a premium over base metallic options in the secondary market.

TURBO vs Lower Trims

The Turbo trim is a massive step up from the 4S, replacing the V6 with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 that delivers 550 hp. Beyond the power, this trim standardizes the adaptive three-chamber air suspension and the unique four-way adaptive rear spoiler. Inside, you get 14-way power seats and the Bose Surround Sound system as standard, features that are often expensive options on lower tiers.

Panamera vs Segment Rivals

The Panamera Sport Turismo stands alone against rivals like the Mercedes-Benz CLS and BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe by offering a genuine 'Shooting Brake' wagon profile with 520 litres of luggage space. Its 90-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range for long desert highway stretches compared to more city-focused luxury sedans. Additionally, Porsche's PDK transmission is widely regarded as the fastest-shifting and most durable dual-clutch system in the segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 9.4 L/100km on the highway, though GCC stop-start traffic will see this rise to roughly 13.1 L/100km. Service intervals are every 15,000 km or 12 months, and as a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully supported by Porsche’s extensive service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While high-end Porsches depreciate faster than Japanese luxury brands, the discontinued Sport Turismo body style is showing signs of better value retention due to its niche desirability.

Performance & Capability

With a top speed of 304 km/h, this is one of the fastest station wagons ever produced. The active all-wheel-drive system provides immense grip on sand-dusted asphalt, while the Sport Chrono package allows for a 0–100 km/h sprint of just 3.6 seconds. Despite its performance, the adaptive cylinder control can deactivate four cylinders during highway cruising to optimize efficiency on the way to Salalah or Muscat.

Comfort & Cabin

This 4-seater configuration provides executive-level comfort for all passengers, featuring dedicated rear climate zones and vents essential for the GCC summer. The Sport Turismo’s higher roofline offers significantly better rear headroom than the standard Panamera, making it a better choice for family use. Cabin insulation is world-class, keeping the interior serene even at high cruising speeds on the E11.

Safety

Standard safety tech includes Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and advanced traction control, which are vital for maintaining composure on gravel or during sudden rain showers. The Turbo trim features high-performance 6-piston front brakes for massive stopping power. For long highway drives, the adaptive cruise control and Lane Change Assist provide an extra layer of security in fast-moving traffic.

The bottom line

This is the perfect match for a GCC enthusiast who needs a practical family vehicle but refuses to sacrifice supercar performance, especially given its exceptionally low mileage for the region.
