Summary

This 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser VXR is a benchmark for durability in the GCC, pairing the flagship 5.7L V8 engine with a low-mileage profile that is significantly below the regional average for its age. As the top-tier trim, it features a more refined cabin and advanced off-road hardware compared to mid-spec versions, making it an ideal choice for both long-haul family trips and weekend desert expeditions. Its black exterior remains one of the most sought-after colors in the local market, ensuring excellent resale prospects. For a buyer in the region, this represents a chance to own the legendary J200 generation in its most powerful and well-equipped form, backed by a service network that spans every corner of the Gulf.

This Car vs Other 2018 Land Cruisers

With just 69,500 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven roughly 11,500 km per year—less than half the typical 25,000 km annual average seen for SUVs in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This low usage translates to significantly less wear on the mechanical components and interior compared to most 2018 models currently available. The black paintwork is a high-demand choice in the GCC, further strengthening its value retention over less common or non-standard colors.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim is the ultimate expression of the Land Cruiser, adding the 8-speed automatic transmission and a 14-speaker JBL premium audio system that the GXR lacks. GCC buyers will appreciate the four-zone climate control and ventilated front seats, which are essential for summer comfort. It also includes the full suite of off-road aids, including the Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) and a 360-degree camera for easier navigation in tight city spaces or technical terrain.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser stands out against the Nissan Patrol by offering a 138-litre dual-tank system, providing a superior cruising range for long desert drives between Abu Dhabi and Salalah. While rivals focus on on-road tech, the Land Cruiser leads with its heavy-duty body-on-frame construction and a proven mechanical reliability that is unmatched in the segment. It also retains its value in the local market far better than European alternatives like the Land Rover Discovery.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.7L V8 averages around 15.7 L/100km, reflecting its role as a powerful, heavy-duty long-distance cruiser. Being a GCC-spec Toyota, it benefits from the most extensive service network in the region, with parts readily available in every major city from Riyadh to Muscat. Resale value for the J200 VXR is exceptionally strong, typically depreciating at just 8–10% annually, which is significantly lower than the luxury SUV segment average.

Performance & Capability

The 362 hp V8 engine delivers effortless torque for highway overtaking and is capable of towing up to 3,670 kg (braked). With a ground clearance of 230 mm and standard Crawl Control, it is engineered to handle extreme desert heat and deep sand without hesitation. The 8-speed automatic provides smooth shifts, ensuring the Land Cruiser remains composed during high-speed cross-emirate commutes.

Comfort & Cabin

The eight-seat layout is designed for family logistics, featuring power-folding third-row seats that swing to the side for maximum cargo flexibility. The GCC-optimized air conditioning is renowned for its cooling speed, supported by dedicated rear vents and a cooled center console box for beverages. Premium leather upholstery and wood-grain accents provide a luxury executive feel that justifies its flagship status.

Safety

Standard safety features on the VXR trim include ten airbags, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert to assist in fast-moving highway traffic. It also features Adaptive Cruise Control and a Pre-Collision System, which are particularly valuable for long-distance desert drives. The Multi-Terrain Monitor provides a bird's-eye view of the vehicle, enhancing safety during both off-road maneuvers and urban parking.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to secure a low-mileage, high-trim VXR in a prime resale color, offering the perfect balance of luxury and legendary Toyota reliability for the discerning GCC family.
