Summary

This 2019 Escalade ESV is a range-topping Platinum trim, offering the maximum level of American luxury and space currently available in the used market. Finished in Black, the most desirable resale color for large SUVs in the GCC, this extended-wheelbase model provides significantly more cargo volume and third-row legroom than the standard Escalade. While the mileage reflects frequent highway use common for luxury commuters between the Emirates, the 6.2L V8 remains a durable staple of the region's roads. For a buyer seeking maximum presence and seating capacity, this American-spec Platinum provides high-tier features like massaging seats at a more accessible entry point than its GCC-spec counterparts.

This Car vs Other 2019 Escalade ESVs

With 210,000 km, this vehicle has served as a dedicated long-distance cruiser, which is typical for ESV models used for cross-emirate travel. While the mileage is higher than the GCC average of 25,000 km per year, these highway kilometers are generally lighter on the transmission and brakes than urban stop-start traffic. The Black exterior is a major advantage for local resale, as it remains the most sought-after color for executive SUVs in the UAE and Saudi markets.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim transforms the cabin with semi-aniline leather upholstery and a suede-microfiber headliner that far exceeds the base leather found in Luxury trims. It uniquely adds 18-way power-adjustable front seats with a dedicated massage function and a cooled center console cubby for beverages, both essential for comfort during the GCC summer. Additionally, the Platinum features dual headrest-mounted screens in the rear, supplementing the overhead display for a total of three rear entertainment zones.

Escalade ESV vs Segment Rivals

The Escalade ESV leads the Lincoln Navigator L and Infiniti QX80 in terms of pure cargo versatility, offering a massive 3,424 liters of space with all seats folded. Its 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 provides a more linear power delivery for highway overtaking compared to the turbocharged V6 found in the Navigator. Furthermore, the Cadillac's Magnetic Ride Control system is specifically tuned to manage the vehicle's large 22-inch wheels, providing superior dampening on uneven coastal or desert roads.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 6.2L V8 averages approximately 14.0 L/100km combined, though highway cruising often sees better efficiency due to active fuel management that deactivates four cylinders. As an American-spec vehicle, it offers a significant initial savings compared to GCC-spec listings, though buyers should ensure a thorough VIN check for history. Maintenance is well-supported in the UAE through a wide network of specialized service centers, and parts for this generation of GM engines are widely available across all GCC countries.

Performance & Capability

The 420 hp V8 engine allows this 2.6-ton SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 6 seconds, ensuring effortless merging into fast-moving highway traffic. With a braked towing capacity of up to 3,583 kg, it is one of the most capable luxury vehicles for hauling jet skis or horse trailers. The 10-speed automatic transmission is specifically calibrated to handle the high torque output, providing smooth shifts during long-distance drives across the desert.

Comfort & Cabin

Configured with 8 seats, this ESV model ensures the third row is genuinely usable for adults during long family road trips. The tri-zone climate control system is robust, featuring roof-mounted vents that ensure consistent cooling to the rear rows even when external temperatures exceed 45°C. Front occupants benefit from both heating and ventilation, while the acoustic laminated glass creates a quiet environment that isolates the cabin from external wind and road noise.

Safety

The Platinum trim includes a comprehensive safety suite featuring a 360-degree Surround Vision camera and a Rear Camera Mirror that provides an unobstructed view behind the vehicle even when the cargo area is fully loaded. Standard active safety includes Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist, and Side Blind Zone Alert, which are particularly valuable for navigating the multi-lane highways of Dubai and Riyadh. The vehicle is also equipped with front, side, and curtain airbags to protect all three rows of passengers.

The bottom line

This Escalade ESV Platinum is the ideal choice for a large family or executive service looking for maximum spec and space without the premium price of a GCC-spec equivalent.
