Nissan Armada SL 2019 Nissan Armada

Highlights

• 3,855 kg braked towing capacity
• Naturally aspirated 5.6L V8 engine
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2019 Nissan Armada SL is a highly capable full-size SUV that balances low mileage with the enduring performance of a naturally aspirated V8. As a premium SL trim, it offers significantly more luxury than the base model, while its white exterior remains the most preferred choice for resale across the GCC. The Armada is built on a rugged body-on-frame platform shared with the legendary Nissan Patrol, making it exceptionally durable for both long-distance highway hauls and large-family logistics. With its RWD configuration and 390-horsepower output, it provides a smoother, more fuel-efficient experience for those who prioritize road comfort over desert dune bashing. This specific example represents a rare opportunity to own a high-spec flagship SUV with mileage well below the regional average for its age.

This Car vs Other 2019 Armadas

With just 63,000 km on the odometer, this Armada has been driven roughly 12,600 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. The white exterior is a major advantage in the UAE and Saudi markets, as it deflects heat more effectively and maintains a higher resale value than darker alternatives. Finding a mid-life SL trim with such low mileage is rare in a segment where these vehicles are typically used for high-frequency school runs and long-distance travel.

SL vs Lower Trims

The SL trim bridges the gap between utility and luxury by adding essential GCC-friendly features over the SV, including leather-appointed seating and a 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor. It also introduces 20-inch alloy wheels, a power liftgate, and remote engine start, allowing you to cool the cabin before entering during the harsh summer months. While the SV focuses on the basics, the SL adds rain-sensing wipers and the option for a power-folding third row that makes cargo management effortless.

Armada vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Armada competes directly with the Chevrolet Tahoe and Toyota Sequoia, standing out with its standard 13-speaker Bose audio system and a 98-litre fuel tank designed for cross-country journeys. Unlike many rivals that have shifted to smaller turbocharged engines, the Armada retains a high-displacement V8 that offers linear power delivery and proven long-term reliability. Its fully independent suspension also provides a more composed ride on the paved highways between Dubai and Abu Dhabi compared to the stiffer setups found in some American competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 5.6L V8 typically averages around 14.7 L/100km on the highway, though this can rise to 17.5 L/100km in stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. As a Nissan, it benefits from one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks in the region, with parts readily available at competitive prices. Japanese SUVs like the Armada traditionally retain about 10-15% more of their value after three years compared to European luxury SUV counterparts. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km to ensure the cooling system and transmission remain optimal for high-temperature operation.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this SUV is the 390-horsepower Endurance V8, which enables a massive braked towing capacity of 3,855 kg, perfect for hauling boats or trailers. The 7-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth highway cruising, utilizing the engine's 534 Nm of torque for effortless overtaking even when fully loaded with eight passengers. While this RWD model is road-biased, its high ground clearance and heavy-duty chassis mean it handles gravel tracks and weekend camping spots with far more confidence than a standard crossover.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for eight-passenger comfort, featuring dedicated rear climate zones and air vents for all three rows to combat the GCC heat. Acoustic glass and thick insulation result in a quiet cabin environment, even at highway speeds, while the Bose premium audio system provides immersive sound quality. The SL trim's leather upholstery is durable and easy to maintain, and the cabin offers a massive 2,700 litres of total cargo space when the rear seats are folded flat.

Safety

This 2019 SL trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including standard Intelligent Cruise Control and Automatic Emergency Braking, which are invaluable for long desert highway drives. The 360-degree camera system makes parking this large SUV in tight city spaces simple, while Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert provide essential coverage on multi-lane highways. Nissan’s Rear Door Alert also serves as a helpful reminder to check the back seats in the busy daily routine.

The bottom line

This low-mileage Armada SL is the ideal choice for a family looking for a reliable, high-spec V8 workhorse that will hold its value better than almost anything else in its class.
