Summary

This 2019 Rolls Royce Ghost SWB represents the final and most refined iteration of the first-generation Series II, offering an ideal balance of modern technology and timeless V12 presence. Having covered 108,000 km in seven years, this GCC-spec example has been driven exactly in line with typical regional highway use, ensuring the powertrain has been regularly exercised through its operating temperatures. The deep blue exterior is a highly desirable resale color in the Middle East, offering a sophisticated alternative to the common black and white variants. This model stands out for its unique blend of driver-focused agility and unmatched rear-seat refinement, making it a perfect choice for the executive who alternates between the wheel and the passenger lounge. For a GCC owner, the hallmark 'Magic Carpet Ride' air suspension remains the gold standard for smoothing out long inter-emirate highway commutes in absolute silence.

This Car vs Other 2019 Ghosts

With 108,000 km on the odometer, this Ghost has averaged approximately 15,000 km per year, which is notably lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km for executive vehicles. This lower-than-average usage for the region suggests a well-preserved interior and less wear on the sophisticated air suspension. The blue exterior is a particularly strong asset in the local market, as it holds value significantly better than more niche or experimental colors.

SWB vs Lower Trims

As the core of the Ghost range, the Standard Wheelbase (SWB) provides a more cohesive and athletic profile compared to the Extended version, while still including standard 360-degree cameras and ventilated seating. Unlike lower-tier luxury sedans, this trim features power-closing rear coach doors and a specialized 16-speaker audio system engineered specifically for the cabin's acoustics. It also benefits from the Series II's satellite-aided transmission, which uses GPS data to pre-select gears for the upcoming terrain.

Ghost vs Segment Rivals

The Ghost leads rivals like the Bentley Flying Spur and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in ride quality, thanks to its bespoke chassis and 6.6-liter V12 engine character. While competitors focus on digital screens, the Rolls-Royce emphasizes tactile luxury with real metal organ-stop vent pulls and thicker lambswool carpeting. Its 82.5-liter fuel tank is specifically suited for long-distance GCC travel, providing substantial range between major cities.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 14.3L/100km, which is expected for a V12 of this displacement in GCC highway conditions. Maintenance is recommended every 12 months or 15,000 km, with a comprehensive authorized service network available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a value premium of roughly 15% over non-regional imports and experiences a stable depreciation curve typical of the brand's low-volume production.

Performance & Capability

The twin-turbocharged V12 delivers a seamless 563 hp, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 4.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. This power is delivered with 'waftability,' providing effortless overtaking on high-speed highways like the E11 without disturbing the cabin's serenity. The rear-wheel-drive platform is paired with an intelligent air suspension that adjusts thousands of times per second to maintain a level profile regardless of road surface.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a sanctuary of hand-stitched leather and book-matched wood veneers, featuring multi-zone climate control designed to combat 45°C+ summer heat. Both front and rear passengers benefit from multi-level heating and cooling, while the panoramic sunroof features high-performance tinting to reduce solar glare. The inclusion of the 16-speaker 600-watt audio system ensures studio-quality sound isolation from the outside world.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a full suite of airbags, stability control, and a surround-view camera system essential for navigating tight urban parking. Advanced driver assistance features like lane departure warning and adaptive LED headlights provide peace of mind during night-time desert highway drives. The vehicle also features a specialized pre-collision preparation system and emergency braking assist as part of its standard regional configuration.

The bottom line

For the discerning buyer in the GCC, this GCC-spec 2019 Ghost SWB offers the prestige of a V12 Rolls-Royce with a sensible mileage profile and a timeless color combination that ensures strong future resale.
