Toyota Hilux GLS

Highlights

• 80-litre fuel tank capacity
• Selectable All Wheel Drive with low-range transfer case
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2019 Toyota Hilux GLS offers a compelling ownership proposition for the GCC buyer, combining exceptionally low mileage of just 45,000 km with the region's most resilient pickup platform. The white exterior is the highest-demand color in the local market, ensuring superior heat reflection and the strongest possible resale value. Unlike the common base-spec workhorses, this GLS trim provides a more refined cabin environment suitable for both professional use and weekend family trips. Its 2.7-litre petrol engine is specifically favored in the UAE and Saudi Arabia for its smoother urban operation and reliable cooling performance during peak summer months. Backed by Toyota's legendary durability, this listing represents a near-new driving experience in a vehicle that consistently leads its segment for parts availability.

This Car vs Other 2019 Hiluxs

With only 45,000 km on the odometer, this Hilux has been driven significantly less than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km per year. While many utility vehicles from this model year have already seen heavy commercial use, this example remains in high-quality condition with a mileage profile usually seen on much younger trucks. The white exterior further distinguishes it, as it remains the most stable and liquid color for resale across all seven Emirates.

GLS vs Lower Trims

The GLS trim elevates the Hilux from a pure workhorse to a versatile lifestyle vehicle by adding several key refinements over the base GL and J variants. Buyers benefit from upgraded interior materials, body-colored bumpers, and fog lights that are often missing on entry-level commercial units. Crucially, the GLS includes more advanced multimedia controls and a superior audio setup, making long cross-border drives between Dubai and Muscat far more comfortable.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

The Hilux leads segment rivals like the Nissan Navara and Mitsubishi L200 primarily through its unparalleled service infrastructure and parts liquidity in every GCC country. Its 80-litre fuel tank provides a longer cruising range for desert expeditions and long-haul highway travel than several key competitors. While rivals focus on on-road tech, the Hilux maintains a mechanical simplicity that ensures it continues to function in conditions that often sideline more complex European or American pickups.

Running Costs & Resale

Toyota vehicles in the GCC benefit from some of the lowest depreciation rates in the market, typically losing only 8-10% annually compared to 15% or more for European equivalents. The 2.7-litre petrol engine is optimized for local 95 or 98 octane fuel and avoids the complex maintenance requirements of modern diesel filters. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km at any authorized Toyota professional center, which are widely available from Abu Dhabi to Riyadh and beyond.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a genuine low-range transfer case and All Wheel Drive, this Hilux is a formidable tool for both technical desert driving and heavy-duty utility. The 2.7-litre powertrain delivers a reliable 164 hp, providing sufficient torque for hauling payloads while remaining efficient enough for daily city commutes. Its high ground clearance and robust body-on-frame construction allow it to navigate rugged construction sites and sand dunes with equal confidence.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed to withstand the GCC's extreme climate, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated vents that deliver rapid cooling even in 45°C+ heat. The GLS interior offers more supportive seating and better acoustic insulation than the standard commercial trims, reducing fatigue on long highway stretches. Ample legroom for five passengers ensures that the vehicle can transition seamlessly from a weekday asset to a family weekend getaway truck.

Safety

This Hilux is built on a 5-star safety rated platform, featuring standard front airbags and a knee airbag for the driver. Active safety is supported by an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), which are essential for maintaining stability on the UAE's fast-moving multi-lane highways. The reinforced high-tensile steel frame provides a solid safety cell that has made this model a benchmark for durability in the region.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer who needs the legendary reliability of a Hilux without the high mileage usually found in the used market. It is a mechanically sound investment that offers the perfect balance of commercial capability and personal comfort.
