Summary

This 2019 Toyota Prado VXR is a standout opportunity in the GCC market, combining the highly desirable 4.0L V6 powertrain with exceptionally low mileage for its seven years of age. Finished in white, the strongest resale color in the region, this top-trim SUV offers a premium ownership experience that rivals cannot easily match. It bridges the gap between a daily family commuter and a serious weekend desert companion, benefiting from Toyota's legendary durability and a cooling system built specifically for the extreme Gulf heat. For any buyer prioritizing long-term value and mechanical peace of mind, this low-usage VXR represents one of the most stable investments in the pre-owned SUV segment today.

This Car vs Other 2019 Prados

While the average seven-year-old SUV in the GCC typically covers 140,000 to 175,000 km, this Prado has traveled just 13,900 km. This ultra-low mileage makes it a rare find, essentially offering a mechanically fresh vehicle at a pre-owned price point. Combined with its white exterior, which is the most sought-after color for heat reflection and resale value in the UAE, this specific listing is positioned at the very top of its year group.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim sits at the top of the Prado hierarchy, adding significant luxury and safety features over the EXR and GXR models. It upgrades the interior with premium leather upholstery and a larger 9-inch navigation display, while also introducing Toyota Safety Sense, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane departure alerts. Furthermore, the VXR features auto-levelling LED headlamps and 19-inch alloy wheels that provide a more commanding presence on the road.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado leads its segment rivals, such as the Mitsubishi Pajero and Ford Everest, primarily through its massive 150-litre fuel tank, which is essential for long-distance desert trips and cross-emirate drives. Its body-on-frame construction provides superior durability on rough terrain compared to unibody crossovers. Additionally, the Prado's air conditioning system is widely regarded as the most effective in the class for maintaining cabin comfort during 50°C summer peaks.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 engine is a staple of the region, ensuring that parts are readily available at every authorized service center from Dubai to Muscat. While real-world fuel consumption averages around 13-14 L/100km in stop-start city traffic, the Prado offsets this with the lowest depreciation rate in its class, typically losing only 8-10% of its value annually. This high demand in the secondary market ensures that GCC-spec Prados remain a 'cash-equivalent' asset for owners.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine provides a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 8.5 seconds, offering the mid-range shove necessary for confident highway overtaking. Its permanent all-wheel-drive system and 215mm ground clearance allow it to handle moderate dunes and gravel tracks with ease. The 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for reliability, ensuring smooth power delivery even when towing or climbing steep terrain in high-ambient temperatures.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the VXR cabin is designed for seven passengers, featuring a tri-zone climate control system that ensures rear-seat passengers stay cool in the height of summer. The interior is equipped with a factory-integrated cooler box in the center console, perfect for keeping drinks chilled during long drives. Sound insulation has been enhanced for this trim level, providing a quiet environment that isolates occupants from road noise on long highway stretches.

Safety

Safety in the VXR is comprehensive, headlined by the Toyota Safety Sense suite which includes a Pre-Collision System and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. The vehicle is equipped with seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag, and features a 360-degree camera system to assist with parking in tight urban spaces. Stability and traction control systems are specifically calibrated to handle the transition between tarmac and loose sand surfaces.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a GCC buyer who wants the ultimate 'bulletproof' SUV with nearly-new mileage and the highest equipment level available for the 2019 model year.
