Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUPER 2.0

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 5.7 seconds
• Top speed of 230 km/h
• 525 litres boot space standard

Summary

This GCC-spec Stelvio Super balances Italian flair with a low-mileage profile that is hard to find in the local used market. Finished in Alfa Red, a classic and highly desirable color for the brand in the UAE, this SUV stands out against a sea of grey and white competitors while maintaining healthy resale appeal. Its 280-hp powertrain offers class-leading performance for a 4-cylinder crossover, making it a favorite for drivers who want the utility of an SUV without sacrificing a sports car's spirit. The Super trim provides a refined balance of tech and luxury, ensuring every cross-emirate drive is both comfortable and engaging.

This Car vs Other 2020 Stelvios

With just 32,759 km on the odometer, this Stelvio has covered less than half the distance of a typical 2020 vehicle in the GCC, where annual averages reach 25,000 km. The Alfa Red exterior is not just a signature aesthetic choice but a strong asset for brand enthusiasts in the UAE market. This low-mileage example represents a rare opportunity to own a mechanically fresh Giorgio-platform SUV at a significant discount compared to its newer counterparts.

SUPER vs Lower Trims

The Super trim upgrades the ownership experience with leather upholstery and a larger 8.8-inch widescreen infotainment display that became standard for the 2020 model year refresh. It also adds proximity keyless entry and 19-inch wheels over the base variants, providing a more premium look and feel essential for the Dubai executive commute. These features, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensure the cabin remains competitive with modern standards.

Stelvio vs Segment Rivals

Against rivals like the BMW X3 and Audi Q5, the Stelvio leads with a more driver-focused chassis and a significantly lower curb weight, resulting in sharper handling. While the German counterparts focus on conservative utility, the Alfa Romeo offers 280 hp as standard, providing faster acceleration than the base engines found in most competitors. Its unique Italian styling ensures it won't be mistaken for anything else in a busy parking lot at the Mall of the Emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L turbocharged engine returns approximately 7.0L/100km on the combined cycle, though GCC city traffic will see this figure rise during the summer months when the AC is at full load. Alfa Romeo is supported by authorized service centers like Gargash in the UAE and Petromin in Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability across the region. While European luxury SUVs depreciate faster than Japanese workhorses, the low mileage and GCC-spec status of this particular car significantly bolster its value retention.

Performance & Capability

With a 0–100 km/h time of 5.7 seconds, this SUV outperforms many sports sedans on the road today. The Q4 all-wheel-drive system provides exceptional grip, allowing for confident high-speed cruising on the E11 highway even during rare rain events. Its 230 km/h top speed and 400 Nm of torque make overtaking effortless, while the 50/50 weight distribution ensures the car feels planted and balanced through every corner.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around the driver, featuring a leather-wrapped steering wheel and intuitive controls that minimize distraction. For the GCC climate, the air conditioning system is robust, and the 525-litre boot offers ample space for family staycations or golf kits. The 2020 refresh introduced improved interior materials and better sound insulation, creating a quiet sanctuary from the heat and road noise of city driving.

Safety

The 2020 Stelvio earned a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, highlighted by a near-perfect 97% score for adult occupant protection. Standard safety equipment for this model year includes Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking, which is vital for fast-moving highway traffic. The inclusion of rear parking sensors and a high-resolution backup camera makes navigating tight urban parking spaces in downtown areas simple and safe.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who needs a family SUV but isn't ready to give up driving dynamics, this low-mileage, GCC-spec Stelvio is the perfect Italian alternative to the common German crossover.
