Summary

This GCC-spec Challenger RT Plus is a standout choice for buyers seeking authentic American muscle with modern refinements suited for the region. The grey exterior is a highly desirable, high-resale color in the local market, and as a GCC-spec vehicle, it avoids the common service and cooling issues often found in imported American-spec alternatives. With 375 horsepower and the iconic HEMI rumble, it bridges the gap between a daily driver and a serious performance machine. Its 6-year age is met with a mileage profile that reflects steady highway use across the Emirates, a typical and often safer environment for these high-displacement engines compared to stop-start city idling.

This Car vs Other 2020 Challengers

At 129,176 km, this Challenger has averaged approximately 21,500 km per year, which is remarkably consistent with the GCC average annual use of 20,000 to 25,000 km. Unlike lower-mileage examples that may have spent too much time idling in high-heat city traffic, this vehicle's mileage suggests a life of highway commuting, where the 5.7L V8 operates most efficiently. The grey finish is a strategic choice for the UAE, offering better heat reflection than black while maintaining a stronger resale profile than brighter enthusiast colors.

RT PLUS vs Lower Trims

The RT Plus trim provides a significant jump in luxury over the standard R/T, specifically catering to GCC climate needs with the inclusion of ventilated and heated Nappa leather-trimmed performance seats. It upgrades the tech experience with the larger 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen—essential for clear navigation in changing Dubai and Riyadh layouts—compared to the 7-inch unit found in base models. Additionally, you get a premium 6-speaker Alpine audio system and blind-spot monitoring, which are critical for safe lane changes on fast-moving multi-lane highways.

Challenger vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Ford Mustang GT and Chevrolet Camaro SS, the Challenger offers a far more spacious cabin and a genuinely usable rear seat for three passengers, making it the only muscle car in this segment that functions as a legitimate 5-seater. Its 70-liter fuel tank is better suited for long cross-border drives between UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman than its more cramped rivals. While the Mustang focuses on track agility, the Challenger leads in high-speed highway stability and trunk space, offering 459 liters of cargo room.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.7L HEMI V8 features cylinder deactivation technology, achieving approximately 9.4 L/100km on long highway stretches, though city traffic will see this rise to roughly 15.7 L/100km. GCC-spec Challengers maintain excellent value retention, typically depreciating at 10-12% annually, significantly outperforming American-spec imports which suffer from restricted warranty and parts compatibility. Service centers are widely available across the UAE (Al Futtaim) and KSA (United Motors), with recommended oil service intervals every 10,000 km or 6 months using full synthetic oil to combat extreme summer heat.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this machine is the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, delivering 375 hp and 556 Nm of torque, enabling a verified 0–100 km/h sprint in 5.2 seconds. The 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission is perfectly tuned for the region's high-speed roads, providing effortless overtaking power at 120 km/h. Multiple drive modes allow you to sharpen throttle response for weekend drives or soften the suspension for the daily commute between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for long-distance cruising, the RT Plus cabin features dual-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents that ensure passenger comfort during the peak 45°C summer months. The Nappa leather performance seats are ventilated to prevent heat soak, a vital feature for GCC owners. Acoustic windshield glass and active noise cancellation help isolate the cabin from wind noise during high-speed highway travel, though the signature V8 exhaust note remains audible when you accelerate.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, which are invaluable for navigating busy highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The Challenger is equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and All-Speed Traction Control, designed to maintain grip on dusty or sandy road surfaces. ParkSense rear park assist and a high-resolution rearview camera simplify maneuvering this large coupe into tight city parking spaces.

The bottom line

For the UAE buyer, this GCC-spec 2020 RT Plus is the perfect middle ground: it offers the V8 prestige and ventilated comfort needed for the region without the extreme running costs of a Hellcat. It is a mechanically sound, well-spec'd example that is ready for another decade of desert highway cruising.
