Summary

This 2020 Hyundai Palisade in Premium Nappa trim offers a high-end cabin experience that rivals luxury brands while maintaining the practicality families in the GCC require. Equipped with a robust 3.8L V6 engine and all-wheel drive, it provides steady power for highway cruising between emirates and the confidence needed for varied road surfaces. The grey exterior is a resilient choice for the region, maintaining its look better than darker tones in the sun and holding steady appeal for resale. As a 7-seater with second-row captain's chairs, it prioritizes passenger comfort with rare features like rear-seat ventilation, essential for the local climate. For buyers seeking a flagship SUV with sophisticated tech and space without the premium maintenance costs of European rivals, this listing represents a strategic choice.

This Car vs Other 2020 Palisades

With 234,000 km, this vehicle has been a consistent long-distance performer, typical for GCC-based cars used for inter-city travel where highway miles are gentler on the mechanicals than urban stop-start traffic. While the mileage is higher than the regional average, it reflects a vehicle that has been regularly utilized for the long-haul journeys the Palisade was designed to master. The grey exterior remains one of the top three most requested colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring a predictable path to future resale.

PREMIUM NAPPA vs Lower Trims

The Premium Nappa (comparable to the Limited/Calligraphy grades) significantly elevates the cabin over the SE and SEL trims by introducing genuine Nappa leather upholstery and a full 12.3-inch digital cockpit. Crucially for the GCC summer, it adds ventilation to both the front and second-row seats, a feature usually reserved for high-end luxury brands. Additionally, this trim includes a head-up display and a surround-view monitor, providing superior visibility when navigating tight urban parking spaces.

Palisade vs Segment Rivals

The Palisade leads its closest rival, the Toyota Highlander, in interior refinement and third-row accessibility, offering a more 'lounge-like' feel for passengers. Compared to the Honda Pilot, the Palisade provides a more modern technology suite, including its seamless dual-screen interface and advanced safety platform. Its 3.8L naturally aspirated V6 is favored by local owners for its predictable power delivery on the highway compared to the smaller turbocharged units found in newer competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.8L V6 engine delivers a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 11.1 L/100km, performing most efficiently during sustained highway speeds. Maintenance is supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC, ensuring parts are readily available and affordable. The Palisade has demonstrated strong value retention in the local market, typically depreciating at a slower rate than European mid-size SUVs due to its reputation for reliability and high feature-per-dirham ratio.

Performance & Capability

The 291 hp V6 engine enables a smooth 0–100 km/h sprint in roughly 7.7 seconds, providing ample punch for high-speed overtaking on the E11 or E311. With a maximum braked towing capacity of 2,268 kg, it is well-suited for hauling jet skis or small trailers for weekend getaways. The HTRAC all-wheel-drive system includes a dedicated 'Snow' mode which, along with the center locking differential, provides added stability when traversing gravel tracks or rain-slicked roads during the winter months.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for family logistics in extreme heat, featuring a powerful tri-zone climate control system with dedicated roof-mounted vents for all three rows. The 7-seat configuration utilizes second-row captain's chairs to create a more spacious atmosphere and easier passage to the rear. Acoustic glass and extensive insulation ensure the cabin remains a quiet sanctuary, effectively blocking out wind and road noise during long cross-border drives.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, featuring Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance, which are vital for the fast-paced multi-lane traffic common in major GCC cities. It also includes the innovative Blind View Monitor, which projects a live video feed of your blind spot directly into the instrument cluster when the turn signal is active. Adaptive cruise control with lane-following assist helps reduce driver fatigue significantly during long desert highway stretches.

The bottom line

Perfect for the growing family that refuses to sacrifice luxury, this Palisade offers top-tier features like Nappa leather and dual-row ventilation at a price point that makes sense in the current market.
