Hyundai Santa Fe PREMIUM PLUS

Highlights

• 280 hp from a 3.5-litre V6 engine
• Full ADAS suite including Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 6-year-old Santa Fe presents a rare opportunity, combining the high-output V6 powertrain with the maximum Premium Plus trim level. Its mileage is significantly below the GCC average of 120,000–150,000 km for a vehicle of this age, indicating careful previous use on local roads. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the region, ensuring maximum heat reflection and strong resale demand when you decide to upgrade. As a monocoque SUV with seven seats, it offers a more refined highway experience than body-on-frame rivals, making it the ideal choice for families prioritizing safety and long-distance comfort in the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2020 Santa Fes

With 96,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has averaged just 16,000 km per year, which is well below the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km. While many listings for this model year feature the standard 2.4L engine, this unit carries the 3.5L V6, providing the necessary power for confident highway overtaking with a full passenger load. The white paint is a strategic advantage for GCC buyers, known for maintaining a higher market value due to its superior performance in extreme summer heat.

PREMIUM PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Premium Plus trim is the highest specification available, adding critical comfort features that lower trims like the Active and Elite lack. You get ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera system, both of which are high-value additions for the local climate and tight city parking. Additionally, this trim includes the premium 12-speaker audio system and a head-up display, creating a cabin experience that rivals luxury brands.

Santa Fe vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Kia Sorento, the Santa Fe offers a more distinctive exterior design and a reputation for slightly higher interior material quality in the GCC. While it competes with the Toyota RAV4, the Santa Fe provides a genuinely larger cabin and a third row of seats, making it a better fit for growing families. Its 3.5L V6 engine also offers smoother power delivery than the smaller four-cylinder engines found in many compact SUV rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L V6 returns approximately 10.6 L/100km on combined cycles, though GCC drivers should expect closer to 13.0 L/100km in stop-start traffic. Hyundai enjoys one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE and wider GCC, ensuring that parts are affordable and maintenance is convenient. Historically, this model retains approximately 53% of its value after five years in the local market, benefiting from high demand for seven-seater petrol SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 280 hp V6 engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering 336 Nm of torque for effortless cruising on the E11 or E311 highways. With a braked towing capacity of 2,000 kg and 185 mm of ground clearance, it is well-suited for light weekend excursions and family road trips between emirates. The front-wheel-drive configuration is optimized for road efficiency, providing a stable and quiet ride even at high highway speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC summers, featuring powerful multi-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents to keep all seven passengers cool. The Premium Plus trim includes leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof that is heavily tinted to reduce solar gain. Front-seat occupants benefit from ventilation, a must-have for comfort during the peak heat months, while the 7-inch digital cockpit provides clear visibility of all vital vehicle stats.

Safety

Safety is a primary highlight of the 2020 Santa Fe, which carries a 5-star ANCAP safety rating. This Premium Plus trim features the full SmartSense suite, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and the highly useful Blind-Spot View Monitor which displays a camera feed in the cluster. These systems are particularly valuable for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highway traffic in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a family looking for a high-spec, low-mileage SUV that balances luxury features with Hyundai's legendary regional reliability.
