Summary

This 2020 GLB 250 4MATIC is an ideal entry into the Mercedes-Benz SUV family, offering a modern, tech-forward cabin that punches well above its compact dimensions. With its intelligent all-wheel-drive system and versatile 5-seat layout, it balances city maneuverability with the stability needed for long-distance highway cruises across the Emirates. The Black exterior remains a top-tier choice for resale value in the GCC, while the turbocharged engine provides the low-end torque essential for effortless overtaking. For a buyer seeking the prestige of the three-pointed star alongside genuine everyday utility, this specific listing offers a well-maintained example of Mercedes’ most space-efficient platform.

This Car vs Other 2020 GLB250s

With just over 72,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC market. Its American specification provides a familiar feature set, while the Black finish is highly prized locally for its timeless appeal and strong residual value. The condition reflects a car used for urban commuting rather than high-mileage cross-border travel.

4MATIC vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the 250 4MATIC adds the sophisticated All-Wheel Drive system, which includes an Off-Road Engineering Package with specialized driving modes and Downhill Speed Regulation. Compared to the base FWD GLB 200, this trim features the more powerful 2.0L engine and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission for smoother power delivery. You also benefit from enhanced exterior styling, including larger 19-inch wheels and more aggressive AMG-inspired bumper treatments.

GLB250 vs Segment Rivals

The GLB250 leads rivals like the Audi Q3 and BMW X1 in terms of interior headroom and boxy, usable cargo volume. Its standout advantage is the MBUX infotainment system, which offers superior voice control and dual 10.25-inch displays that feel a generation ahead of others in this class. Additionally, the 60-litre fuel tank is larger than many competitors, providing a longer range for drives between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 9.1 L/100km, which is efficient for an AWD SUV in GCC traffic conditions. Mercedes-Benz maintains a massive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring that parts and specialist technicians are always within reach. The GLB has shown better value retention than the GLA due to its increased practicality, typically depreciating at a manageable 12-15% annually in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 224 hp turbocharged engine delivers a 0–100 km/h time of just 6.9 seconds, providing plenty of punch for fast-moving highway merges. The 4MATIC system constantly monitors traction, shifting power to the rear wheels instantly when sand or rain makes the road surface unpredictable. With 350 Nm of torque available from just 1,800 rpm, the car feels light and responsive even when fully loaded with passengers and luggage.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is defined by its vertical space, offering exceptional visibility and a sense of openness rarely found in compact SUVs. The 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats slide fore and aft by 14cm, allowing you to prioritize either massive legroom or extra boot capacity. For the GCC climate, the dual-zone climate control is engineered to reach temperature quickly, while the acoustic insulation keeps the cabin quiet during high-speed desert highway travel.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Active Brake Assist, Attention Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring, which are vital for multi-lane highway driving. The 4MATIC system further enhances safety by providing superior stability on gravel-covered shoulders or during sudden maneuvers. Seven airbags and high-strength steel construction ensure top-tier occupant protection for family use.

The bottom line

For the GCC professional or small family, this GLB250 4MATIC represents a smart, tech-rich choice that avoids the high depreciation of a brand-new model while offering low-mileage reliability.
