Summary

This 2020 Land Cruiser Pickup 70 represents a rare balance of moderate mileage and legendary reliability, making it a highly sought-after asset in the GCC market. Finished in a versatile Grey that holds strong demand, this 4.0L V6 workhorse offers a purely mechanical driving experience that modern electronically-dependent trucks cannot replicate. With only 65,400 km, it sits well below the typical wear-and-tear expectations for a heavy-duty GCC vehicle of this age. Whether for desert expeditions or commercial deployment, the selectable all-wheel drive and manual gearbox provide total control in the region's most challenging terrains. This specific model year remains a favorite among purists for its simple maintenance and nearly unmatched value retention.

This Car vs Other 2020 Land Cruiser Pickup 70s

With 65,400 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven approximately 16,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 25,000 km for utility-focused pickups. This lower usage translates to less mechanical stress on the leaf springs and drivetrain compared to typical high-mileage examples found in the market. The Grey exterior is a practical choice for the region, showing less dust than darker shades while maintaining a higher resale premium than niche colors.

Standard vs Lower Trims

As a Standard trim, this vehicle focuses on the essential durability that Land Cruiser buyers prioritize, including a heavy-duty radiator and high-output air conditioning system designed for 50°C temperatures. It features the essential dual-tank setup for extended range, which is often an expensive aftermarket addition on base-tier export models. The inclusion of a snorkel and 16-inch steel wheels ensures it is ready for immediate off-road deployment without needing additional modifications.

Land Cruiser Pickup 70 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol Safari pickup, the Land Cruiser 70 offers a more compact wheelbase that provides a superior breakover angle for technical dune crossing. While modern alternatives like the Ford F-150 offer more cabin tech, the Toyota leads the segment in long-term durability and parts availability in remote GCC areas. Its 180-litre total fuel capacity via dual tanks gives it a range advantage that is vital for long-distance cross-border travel.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1GR-FE V6 is renowned for its low maintenance requirements, typically requiring standard oil and filter changes every 10,000 km at any authorized Toyota service center across the UAE or KSA. Fuel consumption averages roughly 12-14 L/100km in mixed driving, but the engine is designed to run reliably on 91 or 95 octane fuel available throughout the region. As one of the slowest-depreciating vehicles in the world, this model often retains over 75% of its value even after several years of hard use in the GCC.

Performance & Capability

The 4.0L V6 engine produces a reliable 228 horsepower, optimized for low-end torque rather than top-end speed, allowing it to crawl through deep sand with ease. Its heavy-duty ladder-frame chassis supports a payload capacity of 1,000 kg, making it as capable as a commercial hauler while maintaining the agility of a dedicated off-roader. The manual 5-speed transmission allows for precise engine braking, which is a critical safety factor when navigating steep desert dunes or mountainous wadis.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a focused 3-seat environment designed for utility, featuring a high-power air conditioning system that is widely considered the best in its class for rapid cabin cooling. The interior layout is straightforward with durable materials that resist sun damage and are easy to clean after desert trips. Despite its rugged exterior, the seating position provides excellent visibility over the hood, which is essential for placing the front wheels accurately on rough trails.

Safety

Safety is managed through a robust body-on-frame construction that provides a high level of passive protection, complemented by standard Anti-lock Braking (ABS). The vehicle's simple electronic profile reduces the risk of sensor failure during extreme heat or sand exposure, ensuring that vital systems remain operational in remote locations. Standard features include dual front airbags and three-point seatbelts, focusing on the fundamental safety needs of GCC drivers.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a buyer seeking the ultimate GCC workhorse with low mileage and a proven V6 powertrain. It offers the perfect mechanical foundation for a desert project or a reliable daily tool that will hold its value for years to come.
