Summary

This GCC-spec crossover is a smart pick for the urban driver, offering a turbocharged engine that balances highway power with excellent fuel efficiency. Having covered 87,000 km, its mileage is exactly where you’d expect for a well-utilized UAE commuter, meaning the drivetrain is thoroughly broken in for the local heat. The vibrant Red exterior is a stand-out choice that holds its appeal well in a market often dominated by neutral tones, while the GE trim adds the digital and comfort features that GCC buyers value most. For anyone looking for a modern, tech-forward SUV that is affordable to run across the Emirates, this listing offers a high-spec experience without the premium price tag. GAC’s rapidly growing service presence makes this a reliable long-term ownership proposition.

This Car vs Other 2021 GS3s

With 87,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at a typical average for a GCC-based car of this age, reflecting regular use on well-maintained regional highways. While many examples in the market feature the base naturally aspirated engine, this turbocharged version provides a more responsive driving experience essential for Dubai's fast-moving traffic. The Red exterior adds a layer of character that helps it stand out in parking lots while maintaining a healthy resale profile.

GE vs Lower Trims

The GE trim is a significant step up from the base GS, introducing a digital dashboard and automatic dual-zone climate control that is essential for the intense GCC summer. You also benefit from a larger 8-inch high-definition touchscreen and a six-speaker audio system, providing a much more premium cabin environment. Externally, the GE trim is distinguished by 18-inch alloy wheels that provide better road presence and stability compared to the smaller wheels found on entry-level models.

GS3 vs Segment Rivals

The GS3 leads rivals like the MG ZS and Nissan Kicks by offering a 1.3-litre turbocharger that provides 202 Nm of torque, making highway overtaking much smoother than its naturally aspirated competitors. Its 50-litre fuel tank is generously sized for a subcompact crossover, allowing for longer stretches between refills on cross-emirate drives. The cabin also feels more robustly constructed to handle high-temperature environments compared to some budget-focused rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 6.9 L/100km, which is highly competitive for the GCC commute, especially in stop-start city traffic. GAC has established a strong authorized service network through major distributors like Gargash in the UAE and Aljomaih in Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts and technical support are readily available. The brand's increasing market share has helped stabilize depreciation, with GCC-spec models like this one retaining value better than non-regional imports.

Performance & Capability

The 1.3-litre turbocharged engine delivers a punchy 135 horsepower, allowing the GS3 to feel agile during urban maneuvers and confident at cruising speeds. Mated to a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, it avoids the rubbery feel of CVT gearboxes often found in this segment. While designed as a front-wheel-drive city crossover, its elevated ground clearance makes it perfectly capable of handling gravel tracks and weekend trips to the beach.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the GE trim offers a refined environment with leatherette-trimmed seating and a negative ion air filter integrated into the climate system to keep the cabin air fresh. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air conditioning vents, a vital feature for family comfort during the hottest months of the year. The 370-litre boot space is practical for grocery runs and weekend luggage, further enhanced by 60:40 split-folding rear seats.

Safety

Standard safety features on this GE trim include a comprehensive suite of electronic aids such as Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Start Hold Control, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The inclusion of front and side airbags, along with a rear-view camera and parking sensors, provides peace of mind in busy urban environments. These systems are specifically calibrated to maintain vehicle stability on the sandy or dusty surfaces often encountered on regional roads.

The bottom line

This GAC GS3 GE is the ideal match for a budget-conscious professional or small family who wants modern tech and turbo performance in a proven GCC-spec package. At 87,000 km, it represents a mechanically sound opportunity to own a high-trim crossover that is ready for many more years of regional driving.
