Summary

This low-mileage 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 represents the peak of German SUV engineering, specifically re-engineered for passenger silence and luxury. With only 6,221 km on the odometer, this five-year-old vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000 km annual GCC average, making it a rare find for local buyers. The classic black exterior is the most sought-after color for executive resale in the UAE, while the 4-seat configuration offers a palatial rear lounge experience that rivals the finest grand tourers. As a European spec vehicle, it offers high-standard safety equipment and efficient tuning, though buyers should ensure a local inspection to confirm its cooling performance for peak Gulf summers.

This Car vs Other 2021 GLS 600s

While many 2021 luxury SUVs in the UAE have surpassed the 80,000 km mark due to extensive highway use between Emirates, this specific car sits at a remarkable 6,221 km. This extremely low usage ensures that mechanical wear is minimal and the interior remains in showroom condition. The black-on-black color combination is a strategic choice for the GCC market, ensuring it retains a higher resale value and broader appeal than more niche configurations.

MAYBACH vs Lower Trims

The Maybach trim transforms the standard GLS into an ultra-luxury sanctuary by removing the third row entirely to provide over a meter of legroom for rear passengers. It adds the dedicated 'Maybach' drive mode for ultimate ride smoothness, along with standard features like power-extending running boards, a refrigerated compartment, and active noise cancellation. The inclusion of the 4-seat executive configuration with reclining outer seats is a significant upgrade over the standard 5-seat GLS layout.

GLS 600 vs Segment Rivals

The GLS 600 competes directly with the Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan, leading on technological integration and cabin insulation. Its 90-litre fuel tank provides a superior range for long-distance cruising across GCC borders compared to more performance-focused rivals. The unique E-Active Body Control system allows the car to scan the road ahead and proactively adjust for speed bumps, a level of active comfort that is class-leading.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages roughly 12.5L/100km on the highway, though city driving in stop-start Dubai traffic will see this rise significantly. Mercedes-Benz has a comprehensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts availability is generally better than more exotic British rivals. While European spec vehicles typically depreciate at a slightly different rate than GCC spec cars locally, the exceptionally low mileage on this unit serves as a strong hedge against typical annual market loss.

Performance & Capability

Despite its substantial presence, the biturbo V8 delivers a 0–100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways. The 48V mild-hybrid EQ Boost system provides an additional 250 Nm of torque to smoothen initial acceleration, while the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system ensures absolute stability on gravel roads or during sudden winter rain. The vehicle is electronically limited to a top speed of 250 km/h, maintaining impressive composure even at higher cruising speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The 4-seat layout features ventilated and heated multicontour seats with massage functions for all passengers, a necessity for comfortable summer driving in the Gulf. The cabin is shielded by laminated acoustic glass that blocks external heat and wind noise, while the high-capacity climate control system includes dedicated rear vents and controls for individual passenger zones. The MBUX high-end rear seat entertainment system ensures that rear occupants have full control over the cabin environment and media.

Safety

This Maybach is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC for long highway stretches and Pre-Safe Impulse Side, which can inflate seat bolsters to move passengers away from a side impact. The 360° camera system and Active Parking Assist are standard, making the large SUV manageable in tight city parking. It also features unique airbags integrated into the rear seat cushions to prevent submarining when the seats are in their fully reclined position.

The bottom line

For the executive buyer who values rear-seat comfort and German engineering over pure brand theatre, this near-new Maybach is a high-value alternative to a new factory order.
