Summary

This 2021 Nissan Altima SV is a standout choice for GCC commuters, offering a perfect balance of modern tech and proven reliability. With 77,000 km, the mileage is well within the typical range for a three-year-old vehicle in this region, where highway driving is the norm. The black exterior remains a top-tier choice for resale value in the UAE and wider Gulf markets. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for extreme summer heat, featuring a robust cooling system and local warranty compatibility. The SV trim represents the 'sweet spot' in the lineup, providing essential upgrades like the larger infotainment screen and alloy wheels without the higher maintenance costs of turbocharged variants.

This Car vs Other 2021 Altimas

At 77,000 km, this Altima reflects an annual usage of roughly 25,000 km, which is the standard benchmark for vehicles in the GCC due to frequent inter-city travel. Its black exterior is one of the most sought-after colors in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and stronger value retention compared to niche colors. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it holds a significant price premium and trust advantage over imported American or European models.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim offers a substantial upgrade over the base S model, most notably adding an 8-inch touchscreen with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless navigation. Exterior enhancements include 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and signature LED headlights that improve nighttime visibility on dark desert highways. Drivers also benefit from an 8-way power-adjustable seat and the Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition as standard.

Altima vs Segment Rivals

The Altima competes directly with the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, leading the segment with its exceptionally comfortable 'Zero Gravity' seats designed to reduce fatigue during long Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi commutes. Its 61.3-litre fuel tank is specifically sized to handle long-distance regional travel, often outperforming rivals in highway cruising range. Nissan’s Xtronic CVT is also widely recognized for its smoothness in the stop-start traffic common in major GCC urban centers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5L engine averages around 8.2 L/100km, with highway efficiency reaching as low as 6.9 L/100km. Service intervals are typically set at 10,000 km or 6 months at authorized centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring excellent parts availability. The Altima maintains strong value retention, typically depreciating only 8–10% annually, making it one of the safest financial bets in the mid-size sedan category.

Performance & Capability

The 182 hp 2.5-litre engine provides reliable performance for highway overtaking and confident merging into fast-moving traffic. It achieves a 0–100 km/h time of approximately 8.0 seconds, offering a spirited feel while maintaining the fuel efficiency required for a daily commuter. The front-wheel-drive setup and independent suspension are specifically tuned for comfort, effectively absorbing road imperfections on both city streets and rural highways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the Gulf climate, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with rear cooling vents to keep all five passengers comfortable during peak summer. The SV trim includes premium cloth upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, elevating the tactile feel of the interior. Acoustic glass and high-quality insulation work together to provide a quiet environment, shielding occupants from engine noise and high-speed wind buffeting.

Safety

This Altima SV comes standard with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite, which includes Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert—essential for multi-lane highway driving. It also features Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking to assist in sudden traffic stops. With six airbags and a 5-star NHTSA safety rating, it provides peace of mind for family use across the region.

The bottom line

Ideal for the professional commuter or small family, this GCC-spec Altima SV offers modern connectivity and high resale potential in a well-maintained, mid-mileage package.
