Tesla Model 3 PERFORMANCE

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds
• 567 km electric range (WLTP)
• 250 kW peak DC charging standard

Summary

This 2021 Model 3 Performance represents the absolute peak of the Model 3 lineup, offering supercar-level acceleration in a practical GCC-spec sedan. With 121,000 km, the mileage is typical for a UAE-based commuter, where long-distance highway drives between Emirates are routine. The black exterior remains one of the most sought-after resale colors in the region, ensuring better value retention when it is time to upgrade. Choosing the Performance trim over the Standard or Long Range variants provides not just speed, but superior handling and the premium interior as standard. For any GCC buyer, the integration with Tesla's extensive Supercharger network across the UAE and beyond remains the single most important factor for stress-free electric ownership.

This Car vs Other 2021 Model 3s

At 121,000 km, this vehicle sits at an average mileage for a three-year-old car in the GCC, where annual use often hits 30,000 km due to inter-city travel. Unlike American or European imports frequently found in the market, this is a genuine GCC-spec vehicle, ensuring full compatibility with local Tesla service centers and the regional mobile service app. The black finish is a high-demand choice in the UAE, offering a sleek look that holds its value significantly better than more niche colors.

PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

The Performance trim adds critical upgrades that GCC buyers value, including the 'Track Mode' software, lowered suspension, and uprated performance brakes for better heat dissipation. Inside, it features the Premium Audio system with 14 speakers and dual subwoofers, which is a massive leap over the partial premium system in base models. You also get the 20-inch Überturbine wheels and a carbon fiber spoiler, distinguishing it from the standard fleet on Dubai roads.

Model 3 vs Segment Rivals

The Model 3 Performance leads rivals like the Polestar 2 and BMW i4 specifically in charging infrastructure and software integration. While the BMW i4 offers a traditional luxury cabin, the Tesla provides significantly more 'frunk' and trunk storage, totaling over 540 liters of combined space. Its 0–100 km/h time remains faster than almost anything in its price bracket, making it the preferred choice for those prioritizing outright speed on the E11 highway.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low compared to petrol sedans, with home charging costs in the UAE being a fraction of Supernine fuel prices. Service intervals are unconventional as Tesla does not require traditional annual oil changes, though GCC owners should rotate tires and check cabin filters every 20,000 km due to local dust. Tesla enjoys a strong authorized service network in the UAE with major centers in Al Quoz, Dubai, and Al Muntazah, Abu Dhabi. Depreciation for the Performance trim in the GCC typically tracks at 12–15% annually, outperforming many European luxury EV rivals.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure is the 3.3-second 0–100 km/h sprint, enabled by a dual-motor All-Wheel Drive system that provides instant grip on sandy or dusty road surfaces. It reaches a verified top speed of 261 km/h, though its real-world strength is the effortless highway overtaking capability common in fast-moving regional traffic. The 250 kW DC charging capability means you can add up to 275 km of range in just 15 minutes at a V3 Supercharger, making cross-country trips perfectly viable.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features the updated 2021 center console with wireless charging for two smartphones, a feature highly used by GCC commuters. It is equipped with an all-glass roof that features infrared and UV protection to mitigate the intense UAE summer heat, paired with a powerful AC system that can be pre-conditioned via the mobile app. The five-seat layout offers a flat floor in the rear, providing more legroom for passengers compared to ICE-based competitors.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the 2021 Model 3, which holds a 5-star Euro NCAP and NHTSA rating. The standard Autopilot suite provides essential assistance for long desert highway drives, including lane centering and adaptive cruise control. For the high-speed multi-lane environments of the GCC, the 360-degree camera coverage and side-collision avoidance systems provide an extra layer of protection that is standard on this trim.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a buyer wanting maximum electric performance in a verified GCC-spec package that won't suffer the warranty and service headaches of an import. It offers the best balance of range, speed, and charging convenience currently available in the regional used EV market.
