Summary

This specific pickup represents a rare opportunity in the GCC market, combining exceptionally low mileage for its age with the most desirable powertrain configuration. While the average GCC vehicle covers over 20,000 km annually, this unit has been driven sparingly, suggesting a life of light duty rather than heavy commercial use. The 2.8-liter diesel engine is the gold standard for regional buyers, offering the perfect balance of torque for desert driving and fuel efficiency for long-distance hauls between Emirates. Finished in a distinctive green, it stands out from the sea of white and silver workhorses while maintaining the legendary resale strength that defines the brand in this region. As a 2021 model, it benefits from the latest mechanical refinements and interior tech, making it as capable on a weekend desert trip as it is reliable for daily commutes. For a buyer seeking a nearly-new heavy-duty vehicle without the wait times of a fresh order, this listing provides a transparent and high-value path to ownership.

This Car vs Other 2021 Hiluxs

In the GCC context, a three-year-old utility vehicle typically shows between 60,000 and 75,000 km on the odometer due to the long distances between major cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Muscat. At just 43,000 km, this vehicle is significantly below the regional average, indicating it has likely served as a personal lifestyle vehicle rather than a site-based workhorse. The exterior color is a unique find that adds a layer of character often missing in the standard fleet-spec white variants found across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This lower-than-average usage means the suspension components, turbocharger, and interior surfaces remain in a condition that closely mirrors a showroom product. Choosing a low-mileage example from this specific production year allows the owner to capitalize on the remaining lifespan of all major mechanical wear items, which is a significant advantage in the pre-owned market. The overall preservation of the chassis and bed suggests that the previous owner prioritized maintenance, making it a standout choice among other 2021 options currently available.

2.8L Diesel vs Lower Trims

Steering toward the 2.8-liter power plant over the smaller 2.4-liter engine is a choice most savvy GCC buyers make for the added 500Nm of torque, which is essential for navigating soft sand and heavy towing. This trim level moves beyond the basic utility focus, introducing an automatic transmission that significantly improves the driving experience in stop-and-start traffic in cities like Riyadh or Dubai. Unlike lower-tier work trims that feature rubber floors and basic head units, this specification provides a more passenger-car-like environment with upgraded seat materials and more sophisticated dashboard finishes. The inclusion of the Four Wheel Drive system with a proper low-range transfer case ensures this isn't just a high-riding city car, but a tool capable of tackling true off-road terrain. High-demand features like a touchscreen infotainment system and a multi-function steering wheel are standard here, whereas they are often omitted in base fleet versions. This combination of the larger engine and better cabin appointments ensures the vehicle retains a higher percentage of its value when it eventually returns to the used market.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Mitsubishi L200 or the Isuzu D-Max, this vehicle leads the pack in terms of pure regional brand equity and parts availability. While the L200 is often praised for its tight turning circle, the 2.8L engine in this model offers superior overtaking power on high-speed motorways like the E11. Against the Ford Ranger, this model holds a clear advantage in long-term reliability and the sheer density of the authorized service network across the entire GCC, including remote areas of Oman and Saudi Arabia. The cabin cooling performance is specifically engineered for 50-degree summers, often outperforming the air conditioning systems found in American-market equivalents. Furthermore, the sheer volume of these vehicles on the road ensures that any specialized accessories, from canopy covers to desert-spec tires, are readily available and affordable. It remains the default choice for those who prioritize a 'buy-it-and-forget-it' ownership philosophy over the more sensitive tech found in some European-designed competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating a 2.8L diesel in the GCC provides a significant range advantage, with the vehicle capable of covering massive distances on a single tank, which is a blessing on cross-border drives. Real-world fuel consumption remains remarkably steady even when the AC is running at full capacity, typically averaging around 7.5 to 8.5 liters per 100km on the highway. Maintenance is straightforward, with authorized service centers located in almost every major town from Kuwait City to Salalah, ensuring you are never far from expert care. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and because these parts are manufactured in such high volumes, the costs are among the lowest in the automotive world. This model notoriously boasts the lowest depreciation rate in its segment, often retaining up to 85% of its value after the first three years in the UAE market. For the GCC buyer, this represents a safe harbor for capital, as there is always a line of willing buyers for a well-maintained, low-mileage diesel 4x4. The 'Other' regional spec should be verified for local warranty compatibility, but the universal nature of these mechanical components makes servicing a non-issue for independent or authorized shops.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is the 201-horsepower diesel engine, which delivers its peak torque at very low RPMs, making it a master of low-speed technical crawling and heavy hauling. With 500Nm of torque on tap, it handles 3.5-tonne towing loads with ease, outclassing many of its petrol-powered SUV cousins. The Four Wheel Drive system features a selectable low-range gear set, allowing it to climb steep dunes or navigate muddy wadis after a seasonal rainstorm with total confidence. Ground clearance of 310mm ensures that obstacles that would stop a standard crossover are cleared without a second thought. Despite its rugged underpinnings, the automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, providing a relaxed experience whether cruising at 120 km/h or navigating a busy construction site. The suspension is designed to be heavy-duty, meaning the car actually becomes more settled and comfortable when loaded with gear or supplies. This duality makes it the ultimate multi-purpose tool for the GCC resident who balances a professional life with an adventurous weekend soul.

Comfort & Cabin

Entering the cabin reveals a surprisingly refined space that belies its tough exterior, with seating for five adults and ample headroom for taller passengers. The air conditioning system is a highlight, specifically tuned to drop cabin temperatures rapidly even after the car has been sitting in the direct sun of a Dubai afternoon. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, a feature that is essential for family comfort during the long summer months. The layout is ergonomic and focused on durability, with high-quality plastics that are designed to resist UV damage and the abrasive nature of desert sand. Quietness at highway speeds is improved over previous generations, thanks to better sound insulation in the floor and firewall. The infotainment system provides clear visibility even in high-glare conditions, and the steering wheel controls allow the driver to manage calls and audio without taking their eyes off the road. It strikes a balance between a functional workspace and a comfortable family cruiser, ensuring that long drives across the desert are never a chore.

Safety

Safety is a paramount concern for this model, which comes equipped with a suite of features designed to protect occupants on the high-speed transit routes of the GCC. Standard equipment includes front SRS airbags and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) that prevents wheel lock-up during emergency stops on slippery or sandy surfaces. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) are particularly useful when navigating the mountainous terrain of Ras Al Khaimah or the Jebel Akhdar in Oman. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) ensures that braking pressure is balanced according to the load in the bed, maintainig stability even when fully laden. The reinforced chassis and side-impact beams provide a sturdy safety cell, while the high seating position offers the driver an excellent field of vision to spot traffic hazards early. These systems work together to provide a secure driving environment, whether you are navigating a rainy day in the city or a dusty track in the desert.

The bottom line

This 2021 diesel 4x4 is the perfect match for a GCC buyer who needs a bulletproof daily driver that can transition into a serious off-road explorer on the weekends. With its remarkably low mileage and the highly sought-after 2.8L engine, this listing represents a rare opportunity to own a legendary regional icon at the peak of its value-to-utility curve.
