Summary

This Bentley Bentayga Speed represents a rare opportunity to own the pinnacle of the model's performance range, featuring the iconic W12 powertrain that has now been largely phased out. With its black-on-black aesthetic, it holds one of the strongest resale profiles in the GCC market, especially for high-net-worth buyers seeking a commanding road presence. The Speed trim offers a significant mechanical and aesthetic upgrade over the standard V8, making it a definitive choice for enthusiasts who value exclusivity and effortless power. For the GCC buyer, this car balances the ability to dominate long desert highways with the ultimate refinement expected of a Crewe-built masterpiece. Its GCC-spec status ensures the cooling systems and infotainment are perfectly calibrated for regional use.

This Car vs Other 2022 Bentaygas

While average annual mileage in the GCC typically ranges between 20,000 and 25,000 km, this vehicle sits at approximately 78,100 km, placing it slightly above average for its year. However, this is largely mitigated by the superior durability of the W12 engine compared to smaller powerplants. The black exterior is the most sought-after color for luxury SUVs in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring it will move faster than brighter counterparts when it comes time to trade in.

SPEED vs Lower Trims

The Speed trim is the only way to access the 626 hp W12 engine, as the standard Bentayga and S trims utilize the 4.0L V8. Beyond the massive power increase, the Speed adds Bentley Dynamic Ride—a 48V active anti-roll system that is essential for keeping a large SUV flat through corners on mountain roads like Jebel Jais. Inside, you receive a unique Speed-only Alcantara and leather color split, along with dark-tinted exterior brightwork that distinguishes it from the chrome-heavy V8 models.

Bentayga vs Segment Rivals

In the world of ultra-luxury SUVs, the Bentayga Speed competes directly with the Lamborghini Urus and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. While the Urus offers a more aggressive, track-focused ride, the Bentley leads in long-distance grand touring comfort and high-speed stability. Its 85-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range compared to many performance rivals, a vital advantage for cross-border trips between the Emirates and Oman or Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the W12 in GCC stop-start traffic typically hovers around 19.0 L/100km, dropping to 13.0 L/100km during steady highway cruising. Service intervals are recommended every 16,000 km or 12 months, and Bentley’s authorized service network is well-established across the UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. As the final era of W12 production, this specific trim is expected to show better long-term value retention than the higher-volume V8 models, which typically depreciate by 15-18% annually in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 626 hp output allows this 2.5-tonne SUV to reach 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, a figure that rivals many dedicated sports cars. The All-Wheel Drive system and dedicated Sport mode are specifically tuned to handle high-temperature highway runs without power loss. With 900 Nm of torque available from just 1,750 rpm, overtaking on the E11 is effortless, providing a level of 'silent power' that is unique to the 12-cylinder configuration.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is insulated with acoustic glass to ensure total silence even at triple-digit speeds, a necessity for the GCC’s long highway stretches. The powerful quad-zone climate control system is engineered for extreme heat, ensuring the rear passengers stay as cool as those in the front. Premium materials like carbon fiber and diamond-quilted Alcantara provide a sporty yet opulent environment, while the 484-litre boot offers ample space for weekend luxury stays.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite including a 360-degree camera system, which is indispensable for navigating large SUVs through tight city parking. Standard ADAS features like Blind Spot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control are particularly useful for the fast-paced multi-lane traffic found in Dubai and Riyadh. The vehicle also features Bentley’s robust stability control system, which is calibrated to maintain traction on both paved surfaces and gravel tracks.

The bottom line

This is the ideal purchase for the buyer who refuses to settle for the standard V8 and wants the last of the legendary W12 engines in a timeless, high-resale black specification.
